Lira opens up the World Cup in South Africa

11 06 2010

This was the only thing we were looking forward to about the whole opening ceremony. The performance by Johannesburg native  and personal favorite Lira. We love her and we hop she gets more exposure because she is one of the best artists in South Africa right now.

Video Premiere: “Waka Waka (This Time For Africa)” by Shakira

9 06 2010

They had to pick Shakira to represent Africa? Why? is Africa short of beautiful women with great voices? Lira should have done this and if she doesn’t open the games then this is just an African event by name, at least for us music fans who don’t give two shits about football.

Lira continues to impress with Soul In Mind

23 02 2009

lira_cover_5There aren’t many artists today that have their heart on their album sleeve like Lira. The South African native has been making waves across both the Atlantic and Indian Oceans with her brand of soul fused with jazz standards accompanied with charming lyric. Her sophomore album Feel Good brought this stupendous mixture to the forefront of the chill out genre. Her new album, Soul In Mind, seems to carry this great package to a greater level.

The challenges of compiling music…

3 12 2008

elitistdiagram740blackI’ve been having trouble lately with compiling music. Not because I am out of material or anything. But, because I find my taste shifting a little, but there is pressure to satisfy the listener, on my part. I think the new one is really good, if I may say. But, I would much rather do ones that are like the November one. I can listen to almost every song on that one. This one is fun and hyper and will satisfy the queendom. But, it might get old fast. Still, I always put songs that I like to a certain degree, so it works. For me at least. Tell me what you think.
