Loft965.com head quarters is proud to announce that today a post headlined a Google topic on blog search. The biggest headline on the matter and it has to do with former Girls Aloud member Cheryl Cole owning the show and being better, if we may say, than Lady GaGa during the Brit Awards 2010.

We were getting a couple of hits coming in from 248am.com and were wondering what all the hoopla is about. It turns out that they featured an interesting post on the most-read Kuwaiti blogs (by way of Fereej). According to Alexa, which a great website to track the progress of blogs, Loft965.com is the 2nd most read Kuwaiti blog in the world. Yes, siree! And it is also the youngest blog in the top 10. Now, that’s something to be proud of. We already knew that though, but now it’s out in the open. When we started we wanted a worldwide audience and didn’t concentrate on the local and it’s paying off. It’s been a great 2009 for the Loft. And we can’t wait for 2010. Good times!
This Is A Gift To All Our Readers.
PS, this makes it the #1 blog by a Kuwaiti blogger!

Loft965.com gets its best month ever…
5We are truly flabbergasted at the amount of attention that our blog is getting. This past month was a record month for us. We managed to triple our numbers, become one of the most read blogs regionally and internationally and garner surprising offers from record labels, fashion houses and other businesses. We also started advertising, keeping in mind not to clutter the blog with unnecessary jargon. We truly appreciate all of this success and hope you keep liking what you see. This is not merely due to our team, but also from the encouragement from the readers. Thank you again and continue to support us:

2Loft965.com celebrates first birthday…
18It’s a good day for us here at the Loft965.com camp. We are celebrating our first anniversary. Yes, we are 1. It has been a year since we built this blog that started out with a simple concept but with high aspirations. A lot has changed since the inception of this blog. But, all-in-all it was a great journey and we’ve accomplished a lot.
We never wanted to be a local blog or a personal only-my-friends kind of blog. Also, we refused to use any from of advertising until this blog is up on its feet and successful. The mission was tough at first but we reaped the fruits of our labor later. Our growth rate as of now is 530%, which is more than what was planned. Originally, our game plan was to get a readership that will keep this blog afloat internationally. We have far surpassed that. Actually, we are overwhelmed by the response. We happen to be approaching our best month in numbers.
We are truly happy about what this space has become. Thanks goes out to the contributing bloggers, people who send us ideas, record labels who sent us free stuff, people who forwarded our posts, and everyone that pressed the “bookmark” button on us. You are muchly appreciated and we hope to keep amusing you with this blog for the second year. Thank you.

Another nod for Loft965.com
As we approach our one year anniversary we get another nod from WordPress to close off a marvelous year of blogging. WordPress put up on of our posts on second place on the front page titled “Freshly Pressed.” This comes as a surprise because the post was an impromptu thing and didn’t have much text. But, the video was enough for words. Anyway, we are looking forward to the anniversary of the blog and we will give you the lowdown once we complete a year of existence.
Loft965.com makes “Freshly Pressed” on WordPress
8For the fifth time in the 11 months of this blog we have been featured on the first page of WordPress. This is more than we expected for this young blog, but we’ll take it and love it. The blog reached another pinnacle day yesterday and it’s not stopping today. Our growth in the past 3 months has been at 420%, which is a the best gift you could give us. Anyway, thanks to everyone that keeps on coming back. A full analysis of the blog’s progress will be posted the day of the one year anniversary. Again, much thanks!
Yet another peak for Loft965.com
2
Ever since we got around 34,000 visitors about a month ago our daily unique visitors have tripled. Today, we got to another peak mainly due to the rumor that Amy Winehouse has passed away but also Mariah’s second single deserves a mention. This time around we managed to knock up our third busiest day ever and we are still going. So, we can’t fully report the number until midnight. Also, we got to the third most read post on WordPress (above). It seems that people still use the bookmark button. Thanks everyone, yet again.
Loft965.com is back, RIP MJ
We took a little break to honor Michael Jackson’s life and, also, because we happen to be in the our favorite city in the world. The big apple. The airport’s a good time for us to return. So, this is back in full force. We are still mourning Michael, but we will try to stay away from the gossip thats circulating around the Jackson name and just report and/or comment on the music and the legacy. Keep it coming!
Outstanding day for Loft965.com
14In the 10 short months that we have operated and maintained this little blog, we have seen a constant rise in number. But, yesterday was a monumental day for the Loft965.com offices (Again, whatever couch I am on in whatever city I happen to be in). We usually get a nice hefty chunk of visitors for such a young blog. But, yesterday was one of the best days.
Yesterday Loft965.com got 32,875 unique visitors in a single day (June 17, 2009). That is due to three reasons. Firstly, the daily visitors that log in everyday or so, they are the platform and are predominant. Secondly, 2 recent posts that were very popular (this and this) and an old one that keeps bringing in people everyday (this). Thirdly, the mentions on ABC News, Twitter trends, numerous blogs, Google Blog Search Headlines and StumbleUpon. (Update: I am on the front page of WordPress Now as a “Hawt Post”).
Of course, much thanks to all the people that continuously visit, or RSS, because that is the platform from which I build. It’s my strongest base. Then to all the newcomers. I hope you like the blog. And if you do, bookmark it!
LOFT965.com featured on Global Voices
4I have always been a fan of Global Voices as it offers a wide range of perspectives from different corners of the world in one organized slate served up for the reader. So, I am completely honored by the mention and hope that they keep on reading. The site featured my post on arabian feminism and language. Keep it rolling!
PopMuse features LOFT965.com, Synthosium

PopMuse is one of my favorite blogs on the internets. It’s fun, has a great amount of dance pop and is always new and fresh.
I sent my compilation Synthosium to him and I was surprised today when I saw it on the blog. I am very grateful and I hope all the readers like it. Click here to see the post. Exciting!
