As you might all know, LOFT965.com is on the grind on Twitter and Facebook, but we haven’t been keeping up with Pinterest as of late and it looks like our little blog much attention with “pins” over time!  We realize that the visuals are an important aspect in our blog and it is great to have such a response.

We don’t know about you, but we love us some Twitter. So, it came as no surprise that when WordPress presented this option that we had been dying for, we incorporated it into our blog immediately. All you have to do is click on the blog post title and then the “Tweet” button appears. Do it!

1. In 2009 Loft965.com billed you as one of the artists to keep an eye out for in 2010. How was your year been so far?

Its been a great year. VERY busy. First of all I released “Memoirs”, my debut album. Also I have been touring the UK and Europe and have played at some amazing festivals. Oh and yes, forgot to mention, I got to play at the same festivals as Stevie Wonder, Grace Jones, Herbie Hancock!!!!

2. Memoirs is your Debut album. How much time and effort did it take for you to complete it?

Memoirs took a lot of time and efforts for me, I am ultimately very proud of it though so all the hard work paid out. Also it was such a great experience and I am so happy to have had the chance to work and collaborate with many brilliant artists.

3. We know your influences include Joni Mitchell, Sade, Alanis Morissette, Mary J. Blige and Lauryn Hill, but who would your dream collaboration be with?

How about ALL THE ABOVE!

4. “My Baby Left Me” and “I Don’t Believe” are some of our favourite tracks of the year. When will the next single drop and which track will it be?

Thanks! My next single will be Rocksteady and will be released in September. I am looking forward to it. Its the most “Reggae” track out of the whole album and one which emphasizes my Jamaican Roots.

5. Here at Loft965.com we love us some quotes. What’s your favourite quote or proverb?

“If you don’t want anyone to know, don’t do it!”

In the 10 short months that we have operated and maintained this little blog, we have seen a constant rise in number. But, yesterday was a monumental day for the Loft965.com offices (Again, whatever couch I am on in whatever city I happen to be in). We usually get a nice hefty chunk of visitors for such a young blog. But, yesterday was one of the best days.

Yesterday Loft965.com got 32,875 unique visitors in a single day (June 17, 2009). That is due to three reasons. Firstly, the daily visitors that log in everyday or so, they are the platform and are predominant. Secondly, 2 recent posts that were very popular (this and this) and an old one that keeps bringing in people everyday (this). Thirdly, the mentions on ABC News, Twitter trends, numerous blogs, Google Blog Search Headlines and StumbleUpon. (Update: I am on the front page of WordPress Now as a “Hawt Post”).

Of course, much thanks to all the people that continuously visit, or RSS, because that is the platform from which I build. It’s my strongest base. Then to all the newcomers. I hope you like the blog. And if you do, bookmark it!

Hello everyone, sorry for the absence but it was to circumstances I can not control. I was posting just fine on European excursion until I decided that I was going to have a disco nap in my Berlin hotel and turn over and spill what’s left of a glass of champagne on my new shiny laptop. Apparently, my laptop, Mariella, is too kosher for alcohol and decided to boycott me and promise never to work again. 

To me, the death of Mariella is like the worst heartbreak I have experienced. I can’t stop thinking about the sitution. So now, I take it to the not-so-genius bar at the Mac store and they tell me that the will fix it for an amount which would be equivilant, or close, to a new laptop. And now, I am here in a little London internet cafe pounding out some posts for you. What bugs me most is not that I am internetless now, but the fact that my extensive music collection that I have working on for the past 4 months and completed is no longer reachable andthe only thing I can salvage from is my old CD’s and my iPod, which are both a major pain. In any case, my friends tell me that my deep relationship with a machine is unhealthy and somewhat strange, yet some think it is very 3009. What do you think?
