Introducing… Alexa Borden

Alexa Borden

From Canada, Alexa Borden is an 18 year old musician/songwriter. Influenced by legends such as “The Talking Heads”, “David Bowie”, “Elton John”, and “Elvis Costello” – she began singing at the age of 9. Her music sounds like a combination of A Fine Frenzy. “Florence + the Machine, and Feist. Her sophmore album “Flares” was self-written and self-produced, and came out on iTunes Jan 21st.

Florence Welch and her Machine are hard at work creating a video for the song that first captured our hearts on her monumental album Lungs. The last single from the award-winning album will be “Cosmic Love.” The song is a journey of wails and beautiful ambiance of beats. We’re glad she has decided to release before getting onto her second album. She announced it via Twitter. We will post it as soon as it arrives.

Premiere: Video: “Hurricane Drunk” by Florence + The Machine

Florence Welch is still going strong with her album Lungs. This track, “Hurricane Drunk,” was just asking to be a single. As usual, the imagery and the fashion is up to par. This version is slightly different than the one on the album. We’ve noticed more melisma in this one.

Premiere: Video: “You Got The Love” by Florence + The Machine

One of the greatest cover versions of this decade gets the video treatment. Finally! No word on whether this will be the new single or just a promotional video, but it’s welcome nonetheless. Lungs is, basically, the break-through record of the year. Florence is working it hard!

Exclusive: Video: “Drumming Song” by Florence + The Machine

Our favorite band of 2009 have just released their new single. We like it, but it’s one of those songs with a great chorus but nothing else is worthy. Still, the chorus is very hot. The video is also their best. Now, the next single should be “My Boy Builds Coffins” if they don’t want to release the Candi Staton cover “You Got The Love.”
