Legendary: “So Emotional” by Whitney Houston

One of the lesser-known single from Whitney Houston’s early career. ”So Emotional” is a song recorded by American pop/ R&B singer Whitney Houston. The song was the third single from her second album Whitney, and was released on November 12, 1987.

“So Emotional” was written by Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly, who also penned Madonna‘s “Like a Virgin“, Cyndi Lauper‘s “True Colors“, Heart‘s “Alone“, and The Bangles ”Eternal Flame“, all of which reached #1 on the charts. The song centers on Houston loving being in love, singing “I get so emotional baby / Every time I think of you / I get so emotional / Ain’t it shocking what love can do“.

Madonna’s next single from MDNA is…

Lofty Prediction: Madonna’s “Girls Gone Wild” will be a single!

2

As you might know, Madonna is allegedly being sued for her usage of the term “Girls Gone Wild” by none other than the guy who started the soft-porn hit videos. At any rate, should this issue be resolved quickly, Madonna’s “Girls Gone Wild” should be one of the singles from MDNA. Why, you ask? First it was highlighted on the album sampler as of one of three snippet-worthy tracks (which included “Give Me All Your Luvin”"). Second, apart from Hard Candy and Bedtime Stories, all her other full-length album had the first song on the track list released as a single. Third, it sounds like a robust dance hit. Fourth, it’s the only song on the album produced by Benny Bennasi. Finally, the name’s catchy and “Gang Bang” will definitely not resonate on American radio. All of these factors lead us to believe that it will be a single, if not the next one in line. Feel free to disagree in the comments section below.

Introducing… Jodie Marie

2

Blues is getting a whole new revival. Jody Marie was born in Windsor, Sydney Australia, and came to the UK at the tender age 16. Upon learning she actually had a voice, she decided to try and write songs…and that she did. Fino has performed for Shayne Ward at the AECC arena in Aberdeen, is is currently studying to get that big shiny degree in Popular Music. How wonderful. Fino has adopted a rather pop influenced style, with very dark and moody undertones. She likes to call it: “A mix between Massive Attack, P!nk, Britney Spears and Nerina Pallot”. Hmm. Quite. But hey, it sounds pretty good anyway. At present, Fino is very broke…so new songs will be on the way as soon as she has busted her butt long enough to rake up some dough.

M.I.A. flips the finger amidst Madonna’s Superbowl performance!

2

While Madonna’s performance has its ups, downfalls and an “almost fall,” the real star of the Superbowl was none other than M.I.A., who shocked every conservative American parent in the bible belt by flipping her finger in the middle of her rap during Madonna’s new single “Give Me All Your Luvin’.” No word on whether it was intended, but it was fast, yet sexy. Knowing Madonna’s work ethic, it would properly piss her off had it been unannounced. You know? How dare she upstage Madge!

Watch Madonna’s entire Superbowl performance!

Madonna’s gone and done one of the biggest performances of her life. We are busy at work, so we can’t watch it, but we will definitely tell you what we think once we get around to it. Pom poms, however, are always a plus.

Must-Watch: Video Premiere: “Bad Girls” by M.I.A.

M.I.A. is ready to take on the scene with her fourth highly-anticipated new album. The singer is on top with her collaboration with Madonna and this new track. The video treatment for “Bad Girls” was filmed in Morocco and is inspired by the Arab Spring. Lovely, we wonder if she is calling her new album after her child or a sibling…
