Born in New York City in 1985, King grew up in a small apartment on the lower east side. Her parents were a singing duo who performed and traveled regularly, bringing her and her older brother along with them. At age 16, King left school to pursue her music career. She began playing shows in restaurants and venues around New York City including CBGB’S and The Bitter end.
This is one of the moments when you sit back and marvel at the glory of the internet and how it changed our lives (or maybe we are saying that because we haven’t had internet in 2 weeks now in the middle of the African jungle, who knows?).
Santigold (formerly Santogold but changed it to avoid being mistaken for someone irrelevant) is back. She is doing a bunch of gigs here and there and was last spotted (above) in New York City playing live. She’s working and collaborating with other others a lot including Nas and Christina Aguilera. But, now she has some new material to show and we can’t wait for it!
Manhattan buses have been plastered with these ads everywhere. They are brought on by the Coalition Of Reason and set to bring the facts to center-stage. New York, being a metropolitan forward-thinking city, has a high concentration of Atheists, Agnostics, Rationalists and Non-believers. Therefore, this ad campaign serves to bring light to that fact. Did some reading up on Mýa and her return. It turns out she’s been dropped from Motown Records and is releasing the new album on Manhattan Records. Sugar & Spice is slated for release only digitally and only in Japan, which means it might not see a physical release.
