Mariah Carey attends BET Honors!
“I was privileged enough to attend the BET Honors last night here in DC and it was great! Got to rub elbows with tons of folks and I must say Mariah and Nick looked phenomenal! They were one of the last to arrive in the venue (Mariah on time?! Hell no! lmao)! Security was verrrrryyy tight, as they had cross streets around 3\4ths of the venue completely blocked off to car and foot traffic unless you arrived in a chauffeured SUV or vehicle like we did. All of F street between 12th and 11th streets were blocked. The show started a little late and ran about an hour late due to re taping some things with the incomparable Stevie Wonder! I also attended the after party at The Portrait Gallery a few blocks away, where most of the honorees were in attendance as well as other celebs who skipped the carpet to go into the venue at The Warner! Plus DC is freezing right now! Lol I took a few pics but due to privacy I will only post a few on my personal FB page but I will send you guys a pic I snapped, after the show let out, of the VERY well made program that we all received upon entrance! I’m glad that BET has finally given Mariah her props. They were long over due! Kelly was great but no one can sing Mariahs’ songs better than she can! Never have and Never will! All in all everyone in attendance had a great fun and classy night!”

The first batch of CD’s we ever bought consisted of Janet Jackson’s janet., Mariah Carey’s Music Box and Michael Jackson’s Dangerous from a store in Salmiya. The seller had a bunch of extra CD’s that weren’t selling and if you purchased two albums, you are allowed to grab one for free. So, naturally, we grabbed the one with the cover art that looked most diva-tastic from the bunch. Anyway, it turns out to be Pebbles before she went all crazy churchy on us. A good slice of 80-tinged pop!

1For some reason Mariah Carey decided to releases this just two weeks before the occasion. We had thought the she was going to leave it for the re-release of her album Merry Christmas II You in 2012. However, we are going to be very angry lambs if new non-seasonal material appears next year. Yes, we said it.
Sexy Track: “Love After War” by Robin Thicke

Although the song does start sounding eerily similar to Mariah Carey’s “Can’t Let Go,” it takes a turn right after the first bars. The song is a signature Robin Thicke song. Making love is center stage to the plot of everything, but it still addresses prior dispute, which, in turn, invigorates the seduction flame. It’s a lovely cozy winter track with a great soul sensibility and an overwhelming dosage of sexy. It’s the opener to the new album and should serve as an example for the journey Thicke will take us on throughout the disc. There is no one quite like Robin Thicke right now and he’s a master at what he does.

4So it seems Merry Christmas II You is getting a deluxe version with the Justin Bieber and John Legend duets on it. Not bad for the season, but we’d like a non-seasonal Mariah album real soon. We are glad she is releasing a video soon, but it’s probably not going to be fantastical. Probably just Mariah and John Legend sitting around the Christmas tree (or as we call it – the Pagan tree). What festive surprise does she have for us?

Little did we know that the head diva was going to market her last album Merry Christmas II You once again this year post-delivery. It’s also a great treat to know that our favorite song on the album “When Christmas Comes” is getting a release with John Legend. It’s a throwback original Mariah song with a lot of soul for the season. It would be great if this song got an extra festive video. As part of an international #Lambily, we have to say that we are very against Mariah Carey releasing another version of this classic, because it has been done and did. Now she did it again, right after her second seasonal album and this time, it’s with Justin Bieber. We think this is the only Mariah Carey track that we won’t be purchasing and/or listening to. It must be really lucrative for business to have every teenager’s heart-throb cover one of your songs, but this is just too much and Mariah doesn’t need it. 3Mariah Carey maybe the queen of the season, but here she is the queen of everything. Rumor is out that Mariah Carey is going to duet with teeny-bopper Justin Bieber on yet another christmas song. As if that wasn’t enough seasonal material from Mariah. We don’t see how this duet can go, but even her duet with Tony Bennett has a feeling of Yuletide.
