She said “No More Drama” again in the right place.
“Babysitted,” Mary? Really?
The queen of Boujetto is back and this is one of the only OK tracks on the sequel to My Life, My Life II…
The collaboration between Beyonce and Mary J. Blige has surfaced, well at least a part of it. It sounds like Beyonce’s “Me, Myself & I” got civil unioned withMary J. Blige’s “Everything.” Not bad at all, but will likely only do well in the R&B Charts if released as a single from My Life II. Click to listen to a snippet of the track below.
Mary J. Blige is back to promote the second installation of My Life. She’s going back to an older sound and it shows here. She looks like Keri Hilson in some parts of this video.
Rihanna is releasing albums so fast that sometimes its hard to distingiush which song came from which record off the top of our heads. The album is set to debut in November, the same day Michael Jackson’s Immortal and Mary J. Blige’s My Life II are slated to be released. But, something tells us that she will be topping the charts. Oh, and it’s called Talk That Talk.
There was a time when hip hop was headed somewhere, where the sound and melody mattered as much the rhymes. Also, there was a time when it was a more collaborative effort with R&B and Soul artists. This is one gem of the time that resonated through.
Formed in 2008, Jessica 6 is a hypnotic Brooklyn-based trio that pushes the boundaries of nu-disco and R&B. “It all started when Nomi [Ruiz] brought over a kick-pattern and a song she’d written called ‘Fun Girl’,” recalls Jessica 6 bassist Andrew Raposo of the band’s conception. Ruiz (the band’s front woman), Raposo and Morgan Wiley, Jessica 6’s keys and synth master, originally met while performing with Hercules and Love Affair. “We were enjoying listening to each other’s music beyond Hercules. It was really just about having fun,” says Raposo who first met Wiley in college before joining the now defunct DFA produced hip-hop act Automato together. “Then Nomi came in with hundreds if not thousands of songs her laptop.”
We have great hopes for Mary J. Blige’s latest offering because we loved the original My Life and, also, the latest couple of albums haven’t been floating our boats to tell you the truth.
So, Mariah‘s not just an HSN girl anymore, she’s still dropping dem beats. The diva is set to appear on a Jermaine Dupri-produced charity single to feature her vocals, Taylor Swift, Drake, Mary J. Blige and more to name a few. The single is titled “Save The Day” and it’s supposed to have a Butterfly-era feel to it, apparently.
The Queen of Soul has announced via Twitter that she is working on a new album. That’s exciting news to the people that lacked her previous albums, but we haven’t heard anything good from the Blige since No More Drama. We hope this one is less pomp more circumstance.
There’s quite a line-up for the American Music Awards. Whitney will bring on the crazy to perform something from I Look To You. Janet Jackson has been confirmed to perform for 8 minutes! No word yet on whether it will be a tribute to her brother or a megamix of her hits to promote her Number Ones album. Other performing at the AMA’s are Mary J. Blige, Rihanna and Kelly Clarkson.
The line-up: Stevie Wonder, Jaime Foxx, Beyonce, Faith Hill, Mariah Carey, Shakira, Sting, Shakira, Will.i.am, Mary J. Blige, Adam Levine and Alicia Keys. Wows.
Mary J. Blige, Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Rihanna and Alicia Keys are all set to be part of the Obama inauguration. He is more of Sheryl Crow fan, who might be there. I don’t know what happened to Aretha Franklin. But, the line up is looking tight and I can’t wait to watch it, probably on Youtube. I’ll keep you posted.
