Must-Watch: Video Premiere: “Auld Lang Syne (The New Year’s Anthem)” by Mariah Carey
Not okay! We are self-certified lambs and we say that this video has got to be one of the worst videos of the year. Mariah is jumping around as a pregnant woman (a la Whitney Houston in “I’m Every Woman“) and it’s just not pretty. Also, Mariah pretty pouting is not up to par enough to be digestable. We hope this video doesn’t end up on a best of collection. Still, happy new year and any video from Mariah is welcome.
Mariah Carey’s single “Oh Santa” has leaked!
4Her classic “All I Want For Christmas” is unsurpassed. This one sounds like a little add-on, nothing to compare but a reminder how festive Mariah Carey can get. In the beginning it sounded noisy, but now it’s OK. Especially with the melismatic theatrics. Click below to check it out. Continue reading
Celebrating 20 years of Mariah Carey in music!
2Don’t expect a long essay from us on MC just because we are die-hard lambs (we will defend the diva to death, unless she effs up). This is a time to reflect on one of the most prolific and talented pop stars of our time. One that was to be brought down by many forces of music snobbery, industry chauvinism, stealing young-ins, unimaginative critics and heterofascism, but managed to survive and out-sell everyone. Yes, it’s our one and only Mimi. Often imitated never duplicated. She’s eternally 12, you know. And if you don’t like it, we can show you the door. Lym!

3Ad for Mariah Carey’s MGM concert!
Notice how the didn’t use the “Dreamlover” video when the song came on but instead opted for the “It’s Like That” video to keep things current and happening. As Mariah is one of our favorite creatures on earth, she is not one of our favorite live acts we have to say. Not because she can’t deliver, because she just stands there and makes it hotter than a thousand Madonna backflips. But, it’s because Mariah’s shows are very single-heavy and rarely different. This time, the only nice addition would have to be “Subtle Invitation,” which we love!

Mariah Carey announces “The Angels Cry Tour”
3
Mariah Carey is putting baby plans way further and it’s sounding good to us fans and lambs. Mariah is going on a tour named The Angels Cry Tour, after one of the best songs and only ballads on her album, in support of Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel and its predecessor of a remix album. Some dates here and there have been announced but we will post a more solid schedule once it surfaces. Oh, and the opening act is a band named RydazNrtist, which is on Nick Cannon’s record label. Blah!
Download: Mariah Carey’s “100%”
1One of the tracks that was intended for Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel surfaced in it’s tagged entirety. The songs seems like it was done for Precious the movie and now with the added lines we can tell that it is. It’s a cute, uplifting track but it’s not really single material. Yes, this is an old photo, we had to dig in our archives for it. We figured that if she is trying so hard to look like she used to, why not show what she looked like. Oh, those were the days! Visit this blog for more details.
Mariah Carey interviewed on the Ellen Degeneres Show
Mariah is really doing the promotion rounds. Sales of Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel are fast dipping. So, this comes in time. Not to say that the album is bad, it’s actually quite good and brave. She is in top-notch diva mode and we love her for it. Ellen so has the hots for her. Portia better keep an eye open.

3Haiku Review: “Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel” by Mariah Carey
2Mariah Carey dedicates album to Michael Jackson and reveals next singles
Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel will be dedicated to the late and great Michael Jackson. Mariah Carey has insinuated that the singles coming out after “I Want To Know What Love Is” and “Obsessed” might be “Ribbon” and/or “Angels Cry.” We think they are both. The album’s the most starkly different, but it’s a grower.
Mariah Carey interviewed on the Oprah Winfrey show
3We have to say the throwback do is not working. But, we’ll tough it through with Mariah. And, despite her efforts to get a number 1 records with “I Want To Know What Love is,” it’s not going to happen. Cover versions rarely go up there on the US charts. In fact, of all Mariah’s covers only “I’ll Be There” made it and it was a whole different scene for the charts then.

Mariah Carey performs new songs in Vegas show
Saying that we are excited about Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel is an understatement. So we will spare you the hoopla and just go into a mini-review of the songs. “Up Out My Face” is in keeping with her love of island beats and Jamaican twang. It’s cute. “Angels Cry” sounds like it’s a fast grower and just a great overall song, to say the least. Click below to watch both videos.
Mariah Carey gets 27th top 10 hit with “Obsessed”
2This is for all the naysayers that tried to put this single down. After weeks lingering just outside the Billboard Top 10, “Obsessed” broke in at #7 becoming her 27th top 10 single. Yes, she’s now tied with Janet Jackson and Elton John. I always thought it was a great track. Now, watch “I Want To Know What Love Is” get there, too. Side note: where’s “Celebration?”
Mariah Carey’s new album will be a magazine
7Wow, the recession’s in full force right now that even the biggest of artists are feeling it. Mariah Carey’s next album Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel will be a different release than what we usually expect from the diva. It is going to come with a CD booklet-sized Elle magazine that comes with the first million pressings in the US and first half million pressings worldwide. Yes, it’s going to include the magazine with advertisements and an intimate interview with MC. It’s no longer product placement when it comes to album or videos, it’s full-on advertising. So far, Angel Champagne and the Bahamas Board Of Tourism bought some of the space and L.A. Reid is looking for more by announcing this.
Mariah Carey’s album cover for Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel
Now that “Obsessed” made the airwaves with a sleeve in tact and the album got an early release date of August 25, 2009, many people are speculating about the album cover. The photoshoot that took place for obsessed doesn’t look like album material. In any case, Mariah rarely uses the same photoshoot for her first single as her album. It only happened until “Fantasy” in the Daydream era. Of course, the lagune font will be there even if she didn’t use it on E=MC², which was was “extension” or “dessert” of The Emancipation Of Me. So the similar pose and the armpit galore is going to disappear. Also, I don’t think it’s likely that the album will have a black background because that would just be overdoing it. The cover should come out July. By the time, the Eminen diss is climbing the chart in its pursuit for #1. It would be her 19th. I’m so excited for Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel.

Exclusive: Mariah Carey to release new song this tuesday
2It’s amazing what a little tweet can do. Mariah Carey just announced, to many people’s amazement, that the first single off of her upcoming album Memoirs Of An Imperfect Princess is called “Obsessed” and will be released this tuesday. This is how the tweet went:
“The 1st single from my new album “Memoirs of an imperfect angel” is called “Obsessed” and will be at radio next tuesday. I’m a lil’ excited!”
The album was slated for a late September release, but that was tentative and almost every Mariah album has been pushed back before. So, to have the single hit radio (and the blogosphere inevitably) this early was somewhat of a surprise. Who knows? Maybe she is trying to give Whitney Houston a break and not release the album at the same time or maybe she is just so happy with the product that it is ready for a release. Sudden releases are good because they make a bigger impact.
