Madonna disses Lady Gaga in concert!

So, Madonna’s at it again. Raising controversy to shift more copies of her new album MDNA, which hasn’t even passed the half a million mark in sales since its release more than two months ago. Not that album sales matter to us, but it sure does to her.

Anyway, here the diva keeps beating a dead horse with the notion that Lady Gaga has stolen “Born This Way” from “Express Yourself.” As if that wasn’t enough of a hint of Gaga’s supposed plagiarism, Madonna force feeds the audience a lyric from her song “She’s Not Me” to further confirm her alleged claims.

It’s quite a sad thing to see a 53 year old woman pushing onto the world – especially an established one. Had she based her career on her talents and not this blatant controversy-seeking she would be selling as many record as Ciara now. Yeah, we said it.

Must-Watch: Video Premiere: “Girl Gone Wild” by Madonna

The video treatment for the second single from Madonna’s new album MDNA is out and we have to say that we haven’t liked a Madonna video so much for a while. This is fun, fresh and eye-grabbing. We are lovely the fashions, the dancing’s on point for a change and the lovely scene at the end with the black tears. Also, the eye candy is not so bad. This is was we imagine Madonna doing at this point. Great songs, amazing sexy videos. Good job.

Lofty Prediction: Madonna’s “MDNA” is going to be great!

2

As you might know if you have been checking LOFT965.com for bit, we haven’t been liking Madonna’s musical output as of late. Well, let’s break it down. Ever since American Life, it hasn’t been the same. We thought Confessions On The Dance Floor was somewhat of a forced gay-dance album, although it had its few moments – albeit very few.

Then Madonna decided to tour heavily and go on to release Hard Candy. Now, we not only think Hard Candy is bad, like some Madonnaphiles do too, but we actually think it is a horrid attempt at pop-making and entirely centered around gathering the moolah. We will go as far as saying its a stain on her almost-perfect career.

So, our hopes for this album are high. To us, it could be her comeback. Still, she managed to release a worse track than Hard Candy‘s “4 Minutes” for the first single. “Give Me All Your Luvin’” is probably Madonna’s worst single to date – hands down.

But, judging from who she is working with on MDNA and the few snippets that leaked, we have faith in this new release. Parts of us want route for this new full-length album because if it doesn’t deliver we will lose all hope in the icon’s future musical endeavors.

MDNA‘s tracks sound robust. They are dance-oriented, but not in a labored way like Confessions On The Dance Floor. It also sounds like the diva is not afraid to meander into the darker sides of her oeuvre, which is reminiscent of her efforts on Ray Of Light and American Life – our two favorite Madge albums ever.  So, we predict that this will be a great album. Don’t you think?

Sexy Track: “Girl Gone Wild” by Madonna

Controversy over the song title aside, this is quite the dance floor filler. It sounds like a cut from Confessions On The Dance Floor, but with a more updated sound. Madonna has released a mediocre first single for MDNA and now follows it with a strong number – one for her real non-Superbowl-watching fans. It’s Hi-NRG, it has an infectious beat and fun lyrics. What’s good about Madonna is that no matter what genre she meanders into, she always knows what works for her best – dance music. If this single is anything to go by, MDNA is not following in the dead-end footsteps of the horrendous Hard Candy.
