Premiere: Video: “If We Ever Meet Again” by Timbaland featuring Katy Perry

We haven’t been paying attention to Timbaland’s second edition of Shock Value, but we are sure there are some good tunes on there. We are also not the hugest fans of Katy Perry, whom we call Stereotypia for her insistence on using gender stereotypes in most her songs. At any rate, this is not bad.

Nikka Costa’s Pebble To A Pearl

Today is a special day for me because I finally got a hold of the highly anticipated 3rd (adult) album by Nikka Costa. I have been waiting since 2005′s can’tneverdidnothin’. Her albums always seem to come out at turning points in my life and I have cherish every single one of the. Everybody’s Got Their Something came out during my coming-of-age period and the sophomore album came out in a very transitional period. Now this one is here and I don’t know what it will signify, but I have in inkling.

Anyway, when I accidently met her this past June I could have sworn she told me it was going to be called Pebble To A Bone, but it turns out it is called Pebble To A Pearl. In any case, they are both good titles. She was very funny and had a great sense of humor. She was surprised she had fans from “the desert” and invited me to her concert that night, but I had a prior engagement to celebrate someone’s birthday that was very special to me.

To me she is Alicia Keys without the radio slant. Janis Joplin preened for this century. I basically adore her sultry voice and soulful beats. I am having a first listen now and I am impressed.

We both had just woken up.
