The first grimace was kind of weird, but it picked up towards the end.

First Listen: “Sweet Vendetta” by Melody Thornton
1Melody Thornton has always been our favorite Pussycat Doll, now she is back with a new single titled “Sweet Vendetta” and a new look. The album is tentatively slated for this year and we hope to hear it soon. Click here to listen to the new song.
Melody Thornton covers Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way”
1Melody Gardot performs “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” live in Paris!
1Oh, how we long for new material from the princess of jazz.
Nicole Scherzinger explains Pussycat Dolls breakup
2The lead singer and lead trouble maker Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls has broken her silence on the issue of the breakup. Apparently, she’s the only standing member of the group, which is not a surprise since she gave everyone hell. We don’t think everyone wanted to do solo projects, we think she bitched every single one of them out. The Pussycat Dolls without Melody Thornton is like the Spice Girls without Geri. Or something like that.
Lady GaGa wins Grammy Awards!
1OK, so this headline is a little bit early. But, we can’t wait for The Fame Monster to take over the Grammy like Bette Midler did as “The Grammy Ghost” back in the peak of her recording artist days. We have been fans of Lady GaGa since the beginning of 2008. We were surprised when she wasn’t nominated for “Best New Artist” Grammy last year, but we always felt the Grammys were out of touch anyway. But, this year she got some props. She will most definitely get one, at least in her field. But, the Grammys have surprised many so you’ll never know what happens. All that aside, her performance will undoubtedly be a great one. Elton John is rumored to guest star with her and that should be a treat. We will be watching a covering it for you. Also, we are very excited about Melody Gardot, too.
UPDATE: “The un-televised part of the Grammys is already underway and USA TODAY’s Edna Gundersen is reporting that Lady Gaga just won her first two Grammys, in dance recording for Poker Face and electronic/dance album for The Fame, her debut. By contrast, Madonna, whose Celebration lost to Gaga in dance recording, did not win her first non-video Grammy until 1998, 15 years after her debut album.” – USA TODAY
Melody Gardot performs live
1Oh, the sweet succulent melodies of Melody. Gardot is set for a Grammy win (if they had any taste) and hopefully she will get the success she deserves. Pure loveliness.
Pussycat Dolls are allegedly splitting for good
The evil is out, apparently. Scherzinger has allegedly gone an done it. The rumor has it that the split is imminent and everyone is waiting for the official announcement of Pussycat Dolls splitting or breaking up or kicking a bunch of people out. Nicole just can’t handle the fact that some of the dolls are better and more talented than her. Now, none of the other Dolls speak to her. Team Melody!
Video: “Who Will Comfort Me” by Melody Gardot
Melody Gardot is, by far, when of the best talents in the music industry right now. Her second album My One And Only Thrill is great fusion of jazz and soul with orchestral arrangement. This second video from that album is one of the highlight tracks.
Fresh: Video: “Melody” by Kate Earl
1We’ve had a soft spot for Kate Earl since her MySpace heyday. “Someone To Love” was the greatest Fiona Apple song that’s not actually Fiona Apple’s. This time around she is opting for a commercial sound, probably due to the goading of Universal Music. It still sounds good laid under her unique vocals. Watch out, Kate Earl is resurfacing!
When a wedding gets cheesy…

Shake it up a little.
Kate Earl re-introduces herself
3
This comes as a surprise because Kate Earl has been in my collection for a couple of years. In fact, Fate Is A Hunter spawned two hits in our heart – the Fiona Apple drab of “Someone To Love” and the DUI anthem “Officer.” But, she might be pulling some stops from the Joss Stone autobiography by re-positioning herself as a new and/or fresh artist with Introducing Kate Earl. The Alaska native, and hopefully non-Sarah Palin friend, is all over iTunes with this EP. It’s faster than her usual stuff from the debut album, but still doesn’t stray too far away from the singer-songwriter aura her fans know her for.
Melody Thornton reveals Pussycat Dolls fight at concert
23There have been numerous speculations about an internal Pussycat Dolls fight for a while now. Ever since Nicole Scherzinger opted to leave the group prematurely only to see her solo career suffer blow after blow. Add that to mediocre album sales and a sophomore slump that even a deluxe addition can’t rescue.
Now, Melody Thornton, the one with the voice and a whole lotta presence, has made it loud and clear that Nicole has overstepped her bounds. Watch the video at 0:28 secs when Melody says “Thank you for supporting me even though I am not featured.” Right in front of spotlight-hogging Nicole and the red headed doll agrees. Pheonix didn’t know that was coming.
Video: “Stronger Than Jesus” by A Camp
1
Nina Persson is taking yet another break to work on her solo project A Camp. Colonia is her second effort without the Cardigans. The debut single is already making the rounds and the album should drop on the 28th of this month. Apparently, it is inspired by “girl-pop from the 60′s, 80′s punk and David Bowie,” That sounds like Sharleen Spiteri’s Melody press release statement.
