It seems that Moby is still on his Destroyed promotional binge. As we are huge fans of every other album Moby releases. We never got into the new one fully. We loved Wait For Me though. Still, his work is always up to par. Let’s hope he releases a disco album next. Or one that takes inspiration from disco.

Video Premiere: “The Right Thing (Sharam Jey Remix)” by Moby
Moby’s left the sombre beats for a minute and remixed this track for release. The video’s fun too. The Karaoke theme in music videos, a la Selena Gomez’s “Love You Like A Love Song,” is always a plus.

1Details, official cover art of Moby’s new album “Destroyed” revealed!
1Moby is set to unleash his 10th album on us this May. The majority of the recording was done while Moby was touring. He’d stay up in his hotel room because of his insomnia and work on music at times like at 2 in the morning. He said “it seemed as if everyone else in the world is sleeping.” Any music he did not finish he would take back with him to his apartment and finish it there with the range of quarky instruments he owned. His friends Emily Zuzik, Inyang Bassey, and Joy Malcom as well as Moby himself all sang on the record. Musically, Moby summed it up as “broken down melodic electronic music for empty cities at 2 am.” He says the title of the album makes sense when he listens to the music.

2This is the first cut we listen to from Moby’s 10th studio album. This leaves us very exciting as we have a soft spot for Moby and his work in our hearts. Great to hear something new.
Moby slams homophobic group ad!
What Moby had to say on his official website: “Oh, some people have drawn my attention to the fact that a homophobic ad campaign is using ‘Porcelain’. Needless to say we:
a-didn’t approve this
and
b-have contacted them with a very firm ‘cease and desist’ letter.
It goes without saying that I’d never let an anti-gay marriage campaign use my music.
Video Premiere: “Wait For Me” by Moby
Moby summoned some fans to make a video for his lovely song “Wait For Me.” This is the winning video for the song competition. The winner is Nimrod Shapira. Lovely!
Moby to release remix album of “Wait For Me”
Moby independent success on his highly acclaimed album Wait For Me has yet to spring some fruits upon us. The album’s run is not over yet as Moby’s camp has announced that the album is getting the remix treatment along with an alleged single of “Wait For You,” probably remixed. We can’t wait for it as it will bring on the chill-out moods more with some staccato.
Premiere: Video: “One Time We Live” by Moby
This is not a new single, but its a video project of a Moby song with his friend Mark Pellington.
Must-Watch: Video: “Mistake” by Moby
It seems that the original animated video for this song didn’t quite cut it for Moby. This is the new video and it’s first non-animated video from Wait For Me. The song can’t go wrong. It’s so sad and sweet and sombre. The model boy-photographer is very Pecker.
Fresh: Video: “Mistake” by Moby
1Wait For Me was worth the wait. It’s one of the best albums of 2009. This is the third single from the album and a top tune.
Moby’s “Wait For Me” is one of the best records of the year
22009 has been rife with album releases. So much more than any other year we have encountered in popdom. Everyone and anyone has some sort of release this year. But, it’s sad to say, that there are a few that actually stick out. Not many good albums this year and we are worried we won’t be able to fill our year-end charts.
Moby’s new album is not one of this empty releases. It’s actually one of his best musical efforts, if not the best. It’s stripped-down and melancholy. Electronica without being noisy, moody without being dreary. Wait For Me is sombre synth record like no other. One would think that being independent would be a hurdle on some artists, but it wasn’t for Moby. With no big-name appearances, the album floats purely on it’s content. Tracks devoid of vocals like “Isolate” amuse and merge well with singles like “Pale Horses” and “Shot In The Back Of The Head.”
If the releases don’t shape up this year, Moby will definitely be on our top 3.
Moby’s Wait For You leaks
1Yay! Just in time for a bus ride to New York. Wait For Me is a return to form. Like the Play days, it’s filled with melancholy vocals and wandering melodies. Here are a bunch of “blips,” which are short videos that showcase the songs. Now, I am headed to Teany.
