Toni Braxton is releasing a new album finally. The lead single will be a dance song titled “I Heart You.” The album will contain a measly 9 tracks and a remix, barely making the album mark. We guess there won’t be a deluxe version since she is scramming for cuts. So excited for this news!

It turns out that Ani DiFranco’s ganja-induced “J” is not just about ending the drug war and legalizing marijuana, but it’s also about the oil spill. Who knew?

We hate having to hear Tori Amos compare herself to the new artists. What she has to offer no one can offer and she still remains better than most artists in the music industry. Tori, channel your energies into an album and don’t worry about the kids. By the way what happened to the instrumental album?

Everyone needs a good morning song that will get you up and going. This surprisingly upbeat track from Lisa Hannigan’s second LP, Passenger. “What’ll I Do” is the audible equivalent of a caffeine jolt. It’s one of this optimistic folk-tinted songs that are so catchy, they can become nursery rhymes. Not that there is anything juvenile about this track, but its so cheery, its sprightly. Definitely another one of the highlight tracks on Lisa Hannigan’s impressive album and the video’s not too bad either!

Horrid.

This Sub-pop musical band haven’t really made an impression yet. The music’s interesting and it meanders between genres. This is the latest from the band.

If you don’t know Ani DiFranco, take a minute out of your life and give her your time, she will be your friend for life. She’s only our favorite artist of all time. Yes, miss honey, all ****** time.

She threatened us with rumors of leaving the music biz. Her last album didn’t do so well, but she is working on a new record and this is the confirmation:

The two R&B powerhouses are back at it. The two divas have come together to give their fans another duet. The girls didn’t try to imitate their past hit, but tried to create something new. Although the track is not as robust as “The Boy Is Mine,” it still has its moments. Give it a listen.

And the singles don’t stop coming.

Blues is getting a whole new revival. Jody Marie was born in Windsor, Sydney Australia, and came to the UK at the tender age 16. Upon learning she actually had a voice, she decided to try and write songs…and that she did. Fino has performed for Shayne Ward at the AECC arena in Aberdeen, is is currently studying to get that big shiny degree in Popular Music. How wonderful. Fino has adopted a rather pop influenced style, with very dark and moody undertones. She likes to call it: “A mix between Massive Attack, P!nk, Britney Spears and Nerina Pallot”. Hmm. Quite. But hey, it sounds pretty good anyway. At present, Fino is very broke…so new songs will be on the way as soon as she has busted her butt long enough to rake up some dough.

Love it or hate it, this song was #1 on the UK charts in 1994. The track might not have real lyrics or a meaning at all, it was a great dance number at the time and is still infectious in melody. However, the band did not go on to do bigger and better things.

We didn’t expect such a prim and proper video from New Zealand’s Ladyhawke. This is the new single from her second album Anxiety, it’s not too far of a stretch from her sound, but it is a pretty song, almost verging on Goldfrapp territory.

Madonna’s gone and done one of the biggest performances of her life. We are busy at work, so we can’t watch it, but we will definitely tell you what we think once we get around to it. Pom poms, however, are always a plus.
