News just in. Allegedly, Natalie Imbruglia has been dropped from Island/Universal records after her latest album Come To Life failed make a dent on the charts. This means the physical UK release of the album probably will not make it, which makes the album, although released digitally, a non-charting album! Now, that’s sad!
Natalie Merchant performs “Nursery Rhyme Of Innocence And Experience” live on soundcheck
Natalie Merchant’s new album is a little hard to digest. It’s called Leave Your Sleep and its an ode to lesser-known and historic nursery rhymes. We like her voice, so it is like butter to us, but it requires deep listening for a great understanding of this project. Plus, it’s a two disc set, which makes it even harder to crack.

Natalie Merchant to release new album in March!
Since The House Carpenter’s Daughter was released in 2003 Natalie Merchant has been absent. We had the great privilege of seeing her live at Boston Pop a while back, but she only perform 4 songs and only one from her previous albums. Imagine! But, we love her to death as she is one of the greatest singers/songwriters of our generation and indie artists need as much support as they can. The new album will be out in March and it will be called Leave Your Sleep. She will follow that with a return to Lilith Fair. It’s the mid-90s’ all over again! Check out the above video to get a snippet of her great career.

Fresh: Video: “Want” by Natalie Imbruglia
We are so excited about Come To Life. Natalie Imbruglia always delivers, whether it is singles or album tracks. This is the second single or first, we are not quite sure. It’s growing on us.
Natalie Imbruglia heavily remixes “Want”
“Want” is the next single from Natalie Imbruglia’s fourth album, Come To Life, and it sounds nothing like anything she’s ever released before. In fact, it’s a bit of a dance tune. So, we are not surprised to see a bunch of remixes circulating the web for this song. On of the sanctioned remixes is done by the Shapeshifters. Some radio mixes are also available. It’ll be interesting to see the video for this song
Natalie Imburglia reveals cover, track listing for “Come To Life”
2Natalie Imburglia has started the campaign for her fourth album Come To Life. The album cover has been unveiled (above) and as much as we love her we have to say that it looks like a late-90s’ Steps reject of a cover. She could have done better, to say the least.
She has said of the album: “I feel the same creative buzz I felt when I first started my career…It’s just fun and artistic and creative and all the things it should be. There’s still a lot of depth to the songs…It just sounds fresher to me. I’ve tried different things – there’s more electronic stuff in there, and that’s different for me, more dance beats. There’s a freedom overall, and a sense of confidence. It’s slightly less introspective …”
Exclusive: Video: “Wild About It” by Natalie Imbruglia
1We are very excited to catch the new Natalie Imbruglia the second it came out. The number of views is in the 2 digits and we already love the song. She is newly-independent and ready to reclaim her glory. She has disappeared for a while to record Come To Life, which is set for the third quarter release. The song is a little quieter than we expect from the “Torn” singer, but it’s a grower and is probably only a snippet of what’s to come on her highly-anticipated upcoming album.
Update: this is not the first single, it’s just a teaser. The official first single will be released in September and it will be called “Want.” Also, as we stated, the album is slated for an October 5th release. Excited!
