Introducing… Rita Ora

Greatness comes from a solid sense of self. As an artist, it takes knowing who you are and exactly what you want to say. Roc Nation’s newest signee, 19 year-old Rita Ora, has no qualms with telling the world who she is. Unlike over-the-top pop stars who rely on gimmicks to express themselves, Rita’s individuality is effortless. And thanks to her tremendous vocal ability and fresh take on love and life, the British based singer is entirely unique.

“To be different you have to sound different,” says Rita. “My musical style is very free. I love pop music but I do it with an edge. I want to bring that whole British style to America, I think we take different chances musically.”

Lana Del Rey performs “Born To Die” live by the poolside of Chateau Marmont

1

Whatever she is doing, she is tapping on the right spot. What the world now needs is not an overproduced artist, but a stripped-down young-in with a great voice and 21st century mysticism that lacks in today’s popstar. Also, it helps if you look atrociously hot.

Madonna working with M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj on new album!

2

Apparently, M.I.A. has allegedly informed all that Madonna has summoned her to come to New York City to work with her and Nicki Minaj. Some say that it will be for the single rework of “Give Me All Your Love,” which is stolen from Nicola Roberts’ “Beat Of My Drum,” if you ask us. Other says its for the remixes of the song. At any rate, we are glad that Madonna is stealing from M.I.A. because she might as well steal from greats. At any rate, we hope she doesn’t suck her soul. Click here to read more.

Introducing… Lana Del Rey

3

Lana Del Rey is the newest kid on the block. Although she looks like a Hollywood starlet, she sings in a sullen, dark voice songs of sorrow. Her tracks “Video Games” and “Blue Jeans” are taking off like no other. It is somewhat surprising as the genre is a bluesy jazz that doesn’t frequent the charts much. Her real name is real name Lizzy Grant – a singer/songwriter from Lake Placid, New York, United States. She released her debut album, Lana Del Rey in 2010 and issued the “Video Games” single in October 2011. She is known for being an internet sensations. Her powerful lyrics, singing ability and aesthetic looks got her places. Let’s hope the album hold a lot more hits, but if not, she could be an actress.

Sexy Track: “Salty Air” by J.Viewz

1

Sometimes sexy tracks come from artists who are well-known, but other times they are great gems stumbled-upon via a press release here or there. This is one of them. J.Viewz has managed to fuse chillwave with raw instrumentation to create a moody and multi-layered piece of art titled “Salty Air.” Although we don’t know what exactly “Salty Air” is, but we are convinced it has to do with the beach. The song is ushered is with a strong structure and will leave you humming for days and days. Give it a listen below.

Lady Gaga confirms “Marry The Night” as next single

2

It seems that Lady Gaga is continuing her streak of bad single choices. Born This Way, which has strong tracks like “Heavy Metal Lover” and “Government Hooker,” will get yet another horrid song for a single. “Marry The Night” is it. As id “You & I” wasn’t enough torture, this song, which first launched on Farmville, will get the video treatment. It sounds like a mid-90′s dance song by Corona or JX.

Sexy Track: “Georgia” by Emily King

1

Yes, we have been listening to Emily King non-stop these days. We even downloaded her more mainstream previous album to check it out. But, if the Seven EP is anything to go by, Emily is well on her way of becoming one of the greatest soul artists of this decade. “Georgia” is proof of that. A track that showcases the opulence of simplicity. It sounds like a lullaby that someone with great emotional vigor penned down. The lyrics are straight forward and the melody is that of a yearning town. The kind of song that makes you want to know more about the story that initiated its inception. A remarkable song.

Exclusive: Nadine Coyle premieres “Don Julio” in New York City!

1

We had the pleasure of seeing our favorite Girl Aloud, Nadine Coyle, performs several tracks at MuuMuse.com‘s event #Gumbopop in New York City. The best vocalist in the group, in our humble opinion, performed her single “Insatiable,” a dance remix of “Runnin’,” the new single “Sweetest High” and this new track titled “Don Julio,” which is also tentatively  titled “Save Me.” Great re-tweaking of some of the tracks and lovely new song. The video quality is shaky but we were partying hard! Continue reading

Sexy Track: “Ever After” by Emily King

2

Good soul music is hard to come by these days, especially when its not muddled with Hip Hop. Emily King is one of those voices that are still keeping the velvety lushness of soul music alive. On her new EP, Seven, the singer asserts a return to feel-good lyrics and moody rhythms. “Ever After” is an ode to alternative soul, the less-visited genre of sorts. It’s sexy and smart, yet emotional and profound. Its yearning lyrics will leave you wanting more and more of her lovely sensibility. Great track.
