Madonna’s back with another single and this time it’s actually poppin’. This ode to Madonna’s well-known and unabashed narcissism is produced by Diplo, who is also in the video. It looks like they filmed the entire thing at the Standard Hotel in the Meatpacking district in New York City. Except for Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Beyonce and Nicki Minaj – they were elsewhere (too busy).
Madonna is a mastermind at promoting herself and we all know that she is dying to get the younger demographics, so she had to bring out the big guns. We are surprised she didn’t call Taylor Swift.
Still, Rebel Heart remains one of the few Madonna albums we can’t digest completely. She should release “Best Night” next!
MS MR (Lizzy Plapinger and Max Hershenow) have announced new details of their highly anticipated forthcoming album. How Does It Feel, featuring the explosive lead single “Painted,” will be released July 17 via Columbia Records.
Today, MS MR partnered with The FADER to premiere the music video for “Painted,” a collaboration between the band and director Tabitha Denholm (Florence and the Machine, Haim, Jessie J). “We were thrilled to work with Tabitha to bring ‘Painted’ to life in our new video,” the band tells FADER. “We were heavily inspired by Kubrick as well as the 1970s documentary ‘The Secret Life of Plants.’ Focusing on the lyric: what did you think would happen/when you put me in unnatural space, we wanted to explore the juxtaposition of natural and unnatural environments and what happens when they’re forced to reckon with one another. The end result is a virtual reality psychedelic experiment gone awry—welcome to the odyssey.”
We have been following Lucy Rose since the release of her debut, so this is a drastic change and one that will definitely grab more of a mainstream audience. The song’s probably one of her strongest to date. Not bad at all. Now, we are looking forward to the July release of her sophomore album Work It Out.
Around this time, two years ago, we heard a song that took us aback, it was Fyfe’s “Solace.” it was simple and gorgeous. Yet, after that song surfaced on some indie blog, there was nothing more heard from this band to be reckoned with. Well, that song that caught our ear just got a video and it’s cute. The song brings back some memories for us!
