Everyone is ranting and yelling about how Obama has lost the trust of the people and the world has yet to see some “change” for them to grant him credibility. But, sometimes when you are deep in the cesspit of someone else’s faults, it takes time to surface. The resurrection of the world’s state rests upon his shoulders and that is not any easy task, to say the least. He took office after one of the worst presidents in modern times inheriting a measly economy, two wars and a bunch of issues that have been shut down in the name of war. This term is really not enough for him to rectify all that has gone wrong in the past from Reagan’s disregard for civil rights, to Bush’s first war handling, to Clinton plateau to the worst presidency in the US’s history.

7For those of you who haven’t heard, some conservatives and racists and nazis (all of which happen to be republican, what a coincidence) have started a movement that believes that Obama was not born on the island of Oahu, Hawaii but was actually born in the Southern Coast of Kenya. This belief is rampant in spite of the fact that Obama has presented his birth certificate to the US government and it was approved. They have allegedly forged an English birth certificate from Kenya (no, not in Swahili) that is supposed to be the “real” one. This attorney is trying to defend the movement all the way from Tel Aviv (conspicuous?) with a Russian accent. Apparently, she refused to get into the NBC studio car because the chauffer’s name “sounded Muslim.” What a looney. You know, even if these bigots have some kind of theory that gains some tract along the way, they lose it when everything escalates and their prejudices peak out. Obama coins “Stupidly”

In reference to Cambridge police’s arrest of a black professor, Obama said that they acted “stupidly,” which is not a word in the english dictionary (abridged). I, personally, did not know it was not a word. It has a flaw with it and it makes complete sense. Now t-shirts are being made and everyone is using the term. Even if it wasn’t a word, the Cambridge police were racist and did act stupidly. And now that obama said it, it will be a word! If Beyonce can coin “Bootylicious” then Obama can definitely make “Stupidly.” At least he didn’t go to far on a limb and tried to make “internets,” “nookyolar” or “truthiness” happen like the buffoon before him.

So, I stayed up ’til 6 am to watch Obama’s speech on live stream through YouTube and I must say it was worth it. Maybe, he came of as too catering to the expectations of the region and, maybe, he gave the conservatives in the US enough material to taunt him for the rest of his incumbency. But, to make recollection, there has never been a US President so humble, understanding and keen on helping the world as he is. It could be just propaganda, but that rhetoric is truly new territory for a President of the US and its foreign policy. He did his research and he looked as confident and direct as ever. It’s nice to have that after 8 years of buffoonery.

for some sordid reason, I believed that Obama had promised during his campaign trail that he would never wage war and promote a friendlier US. This news of a flood of soldier heading to Kabul to finish off the massacre that Bush has unfolded in front of all humanity comes as a sad surprise to me. Maybe I pictured Obama as a Gandi-esque figure with strong convictions. Or maybe, I am jumping the wagon about the intentions behind the new troop surge. All-in-all, I hope they all abide by the Geneva Convention and use their presence their for the good of the Afghani and not for some American billionaire with dollars in his eye to profit. I have a feeling he won’t let us down. PS, the word “Obama” is still considered a misspelling in wordpress spellcheck. Get with the program.
The case of Obama and Iran
There has yet to be a consensus on the whole Iran issue and it seems that Obama’s hand is still outstretched for some sort of compromise not only because that would be the wise thing to do after Bush’s waging of two unlawful wars, but also because, frankly, the US can’t afford an all out debacle with Iran right about now. The Iranian government have a choice of accepting this sort-of-truce or retreating.
