It’s nice to see a big star play the role themselves, but we are afraid, just like Katy Perry, Rihanna is just being a “boner dyke” as Beth Ditto puts it. Rihanna’s album Rated R didn’t make the deadline for the Grammy Awards this year but it will probably be featured on next year’s. Last year Rihanna wanted to attend the show, but, Chris Brown decided to get violent. Anyway, Let’s hope she has a good night tonight.

Ok, this one completely caught us by surprise because we can’t understand how that album got this far this fast. It’s not a good album, it barely hold a hit on it. Rated R was supposed to be replaced with a new album as soon as possible, but maybe the steep discount her record label was offering on Amazon helped spike album sales. But, Mariah’s Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel still hasn’t gotten to Gold certification and it was released before it. Oh well, that just goes to show you how sales have nothing to do with quality. (Update: Mariah’s album just went Gold, we guess all the sales results came in at the same time).

She’s really taking that nude tomboy look to its extreme. She is working the covers with hotness and much-appreciated sluttiness. We didn’t hear the song, mainly because the album is so shiteous. We have it one our iTunes here at Loft965.com headquarters (my Beirut bed), so we might just give it a spin. Lovely sleeve, though.

1This is supposed to be an “Introducing…” post but, we had to put Robyn in the headlines as we miss her badly. I Blame Coco is one of the bands touted to take over 2010 like Florence did 2009. Coco is the daughter of Sting and Trudie Styler. She has signed to Island Records and this is her debut video. Coco recorded the album in Sweden and there’s a bunch of Swedish influence on it. First, there’s the one and only Robyn on this track giving it a facelift. Also, Swedish band Miike Snow is rumored to make an appearance of her album. This song is promising, but a bit too post-riot grrl for us. Maybe the album has more in store for us.

It seems that the cover is not the only racy thing in Rihanna’s GQ spread. She has pictures inside of basically all the skin except the mammary papilla. Here are the raunchiest ones. It’s time for Playboy, don’t you think? She surely is Rated R. We are more NC-17 people, but hey!

Anything to shift sales as of now. Rated R is as stale as old bread. Everyones, seen her naked photos anyway. Well, Rihanna is on the cover with her tittays almost out. A better picture will be posted once one surfaces. The word our on the blog block is that Rihanna’s record company is already readying up a re-packaged Rated R to boost sales.

1No matter how hard she decides to swing the album, it’s not working. What a leap backwards from Good Girl Gone Bad. Rated R better have some great things up its sleeve to not flop. “Hard” is the next single and even if it’s better than “Russian Roulette” and “The Wait Is Ova,” it’s still not good enough.
