Nick Cannon addresses Mariah’s pregnancy

“I’ve have said it before and I’ll say it time and time again: when my wife feels like talking about whatever she wants to talk about, you will hear it directly from her. We all know it’s extremely personal, and it’s for a woman to deal with things with her body, especially when dealing with the idea of childbirth and all that stuff. Pregnancy is something you want to keep near and dear and as close to you as you possibly can, until you’re 100% sure. In any situation, there is a certain time limit you’re supposed to wait before you can actually officially say that you are and all that stuff. You don’t want to mislead anybody.”

Kelis confirms “Scream” as third single

1

In a move to boost the measly sales of her great album Fleshtone, Kelis left of a myriad of great songs like “22nd Century” and “Brave” for the less exciting Guetta-produced “Scream,” which sounds like a trance reject in its heyday. Let’s hope we see a fourth single and this video is not done in yet another desert.

Perez Hilton to get own radio show

Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton is following in Ryan Seacrest’s footsteps. He will be launching a weekly music countdown show in the upcoming months. He will probably feature his artists as he is signing some acts. So, expect a whole lotta annoying Sliimy tunes and maybe an odd Tori Amos track here or there. He will also be launching a new website for it.

Video: “Radio On (Josh Harris Remix)” by Heather Small

New remixes are surfacing on YouTube of this flop of a single from former M People frontwoman and one of the greatest voices to grace the industry. It’s called “Radio On” and it’s from her last album that was released in 2006 Close To A Miracle.

Daisy Dares You visits Radio One

1

In case you didn’t know, “Daisy Dares You is the stage name used by Daisy Coburn, a 16 year old pop artist from Essex. She has not yet released an album, but she is already garnering much media attention, and she has been profiled by The Times, the BBC and The Guardian as a young artist to watch for 2010. She is managed by Empire, and signed to Jive. She mainly uses social networking websites to broadcast her music, such as MySpace, where she posts mostly demos, and her YouTube page, where the video for her song ‘Daisy Dares You’ can be found. Her debut single will be available to download from February 21st 2010 and is called ‘Number One Enemy’, featuring UK rap artist Chipmunk. The video for this song has attracted around 50,000 views in just a day. The name “Daisy Dares You” is a direct reference to the character of the same name from the 90′s british television show ‘ZZZap!’” (via Wikipedia).

A new take on rock radio…

ROCK-Radio

Designer Guus Oosterbaans has created a radio out of a rock. It looks great, even if its functionality is limited to two buttons. Here’s what he had to say about it: “My ROCK Radio. The number two in my cement-audio-series. It started of being a very nice rectangular brick shape. Then I found out that a thick layer of cement shields the radio from actually receiving radio waves. With my “Now it doesn’t work anyway” philosophy, I took a big hammer and created this Flintstones look, and the radio works!”

Robbie Williams announces new album

Finally, some news from the Robbie Williams camp. He is finishing up an album titled Reality Killed The Radio Star which is slated for an October release. This will be preceded by a singles titled “Bodies.” The rumors that he’d join Take That again scared me as his brand of britpop is like no other and completely surpasses that M.O.R. / Adult Contemporary bull crap they now do. Good to here from him and let’s hope the whole album is as good as all his previous efforts.

Exclusive: Mariah Carey to release new song this tuesday

2

mq2

It’s amazing what a little tweet can do. Mariah Carey just announced, to many people’s amazement, that the first single off of her upcoming album Memoirs Of An Imperfect Princess is called “Obsessed” and will be released this tuesday. This is how the tweet went:

“The 1st single from my new album “Memoirs of an imperfect angel” is called “Obsessed” and will be at radio next tuesday. I’m a lil’ excited!”

The album was slated for a late September release, but that was tentative and almost every Mariah album has been pushed back before. So, to have the single hit radio (and the blogosphere inevitably) this early was somewhat of a surprise. Who knows? Maybe she is trying to give Whitney Houston a break and not release the album at the same time or maybe she is just so happy with the product that it is ready for a release. Sudden releases are good because they make a bigger impact.

Obama supports another homophobe…

I don’t know what to make of this. I am excited about an Obama presidency, but this is the second time he does that. I mean, I could use the freedom of opinion card and say it is not representative of Obama, but I know that had it been a racist pastor his name wouldn’t have even been mentioned. This shows that the prop 8 protests weren’t loud enough and his advisors still don’t grasp who his following is. What a shame. Why is religion involved in the inauguration anyway?
