Although we loved the message of “Born This Way,” we weren’t playing it loud and singing along to it. It feels somewhat contrived and Gaga know whatever she releases for her first single will be a hit. But, we feel like the real first single to the album, Born This Way, was this track. “Judas” has enough mojo to infect every summer dance floor from Ibiza to Mykonos to Ayia Napa. The chorus is robust and the sound is as fresh as just-squeezed orange juice. It will make you want to go up, and, of course, who doesn’t love a little bit of controversy?

Lofty Prediction: Beyonce’s fourth album will leak earlier than expected!
1Beyonce is readying her campaign for the highly-anticipated fourth album this summer. Still, who expected “Girls (Who Rule The World)” would leak that fast. We originally thought that Beyonce will release her album at the end of summer or even the very lucrative fourth quarter of the year. With the single surfacing, which won’t be replaced with another as the video is already made, the album might be pushed earlier. Also, if it was that easy of leak for Beyonce’s first single, which is usually the single the brings in the most moola, then how would it be for the other tracks. At any rate, this is just a prediction, but we intuitively feel it.
Nicole Scherzinger’s debut album “Killer Love” has leaked!
3We know many of you swear by it, but we just can’t stomach her. Also, we think she broke up one of the USA‘s best girls bands. At any rate, click here to visit the blog that announced the leak, we, ourselves, can’t find it anywhere online.
Nicole Atkins performs “Cry Cry Cry” for Rolling Stone
4Nicole Atkins fuses classic rocks sounds with a little country twang on this one.
Kate Nash interview in NYC!
3Everything she said is right on point. We miss us some Kate Nash. Who of her friend spent a long time talking about Liza Minelli?! Hmmmm!
Legendary: “Cherry Blossom Girl” by Air
1We are on a dim melancholy musical binge. Partially because of nostalgia for trip-hop, but also we are compiling for one that lays low. At any rate, no one brushes our melancholy feathers like French Air, although they have been M.I.A. for a while now, they are duly missed.
Giveaway: Black Eyed Peas autographed CD & photos
25We got an email from the Black Eyed Peas camp with an offer that we thought would please you guys. While the band are promoting their new album The Beginning, which contains one of our favorite songs of the moment “The Time (Dirty Bit),” they decided to drop us a promo gift on our Loft and we are picking who gets it.
All you have to do get these is:
1. Retweet this post containing “@loft965″ like “Black Eyed Peas!! http://wp.me/pkpt1-7SS @loft965″
2. Post the name of your favorite song from the new album in the comments section.
Let’s get it going!
David Gray performs “Only The Wine” live!
We could use a glass of Pinot Noir right about now, the funk soul brother.
Vanessa Carlton to release greatest hits collection…
2Vanessa Carlton has been missing in action for a while, but she is back with a repackaging of her best work to the masses. We have all her album, so this will not be of need to us, yet we are intrigued to see if there are new tracks on the album. Still, we are sad that the previously announced fourth album Rabbits On The Run has been put on hold.
Don’t Quote Me, Vol. 457
Official cover of Robyn’s “Indestructible”
1Robyn‘s new single will be out soon and something tells us that she will be following the same formula as before with the first offering. Just like “Hang With Me” was an acoustic half-OK track on Body Talk PT1 and then transformed into a robust number on Body Talk PT2, we anticipated that “Indestructible” (although string than “Hang With Me” as a ballad) will do the same on Body Talk PT3. Let’s hope for the best. Still, anything Robyn touches is gold nowadays, so we are not too worried.
Official cover of Kat DeLuna’s new album “Inside Out”
This doesn’t look like her at all, but it’s a cute little cover, to say the least. Let’s hope the new album Inside Out is a little less “Whine Up” and little more “Run The Show.”
Nadine Coyle begins promotional tour for “Insatiable”
Our favorite Girl Aloud, Nadine Coyle, is ready and set to go ahead with the promotion of her debut album Insatiable. The lead single of the same name got mixed reviews, but that isn’t stopping this lovely. Meanwhile, Cheryl Cole found it to be a great opportunity for her to cram in another album right before the other Girls Aloud get feisty. Let’s hope this one has some gems on it.
Don’t Quote Me, Vol. 449
“gonna go out
to the arrivals gate at the airport
and sit there all day
watch people reuniting
public affection so exciting
it even makes airports ok
watching children run
with their arms outstretched
just to throw those arms
around their grandpa’s neck
watching lovers plant kisses
old men to their misses
at their arrivals gate”
- Ani DiFranco
on “The Arrival’s Gate”
Kate Nash to pen double album inspired by Beyonce
2Kate Nash is still not off of her promotional campaign for My Best Friend Is You and is already planning a two-disc album that will be inspired by Beyonce’s I Am… Sasha Fierce. Yes, she wants to do an album with two directions. Basically, one with the beats we know her best for and the second is with more of an uppity electronic sound, allegedly. Why now, why that album? Concentrate on making another Birds and you might have another hit.
Official cover art of Sharon Corr’s new solo album!
We don’t get why anyone would want to give her a record deal especially after the fact that her sister, who was the lead vocalist of the Corrs, Andrea Corr failed miserably at her solo record. But, she’s worth the try, we guess. We are definitely going to give it a right spin, but not too hopeful for it. Click below for the tracklisting.
Must-Watch: Bjork watches Robyn cover “Hyperballad”
6This is just a slice of heaven to watch as the Scandinavian goddesses exchange their love for music. Here is a historical (at least to us) performance by Robyn on the monumental “Hyperballad” right in front of the legendary Bjork. We love the expression on Bjork’s face at the end, we got goosebumps!
Mark Ronson on the cover of BlackBook
Mark Ronson is out with a new album Record Collector and a new peroxide induced look. We like it and hope the new offering has some smart beats.
Nadine Coyle signs with Tesco!
1We have just heard that our favorite Girl Aloud is set to sign a recording deal with Tesco. Yes, Tesco. The supermarket wants to have the rights to the solo album. Don’t know about it but it sounds like a recipe for disaster.
