Official cover art to Chemical Brothers’ new album “Further”

This is the new cover artwork for the Chemical Brothers seventh album. Don’t get too excited yet, the album sounds like it going to be mess. Aside than the fact that the tracks will all be accompanied with a visual installation that fits the mood of the song, there’s not much to write home about. The album has only eight tracks and all tracks are completely instrumental without any vocals. To add misery to the sound and visual of this album, the album Further comes out the same day SiA’s We Are Born and Christina Aguilera’s Bionic are released. What a recipe for disaster!

What’s bothering us more than the fact that Beyonce is not done with her I Am… Sasha Fierce campaign is that this is yet another marketing ploy to advertise her deluxe version of the album and probably will have other tie-ins. Kind of sad, especially after she announced she is going on a hiatus. But, hey, she works hard for them money. Why does it have the same title as the Cyndi Lauper and Tori Amos duet?

Also, why the hell is this coming out right when Kelly Rowland’s “Commander” is creating so much buzz? Last time we recall, Beyonce halted her album release for the “others” to shine when Kelly was under Matthew Knowles management. She’s not friend enough now that she effed with the bigwig that made her career out of undermining others including Michelle Williams and her very own biological sister Solange Knowles! Not cute.

Britney Spears’ new album rumored to be “darker” and “subliminal”

Someone allegedly snuck into a record company meeting on Britney Spears news album and was later ejected but with some relevant news on the direction and release date of the album. The album is set to have a deep and dark sound, but also “subliminal.” No, word yet on what subliminal music is. Does that mean that Britney Spears is going to being singing something in code that only the subconscious ear could hear forcing us into some cult following? That’s quite vague and somewhat creepy. But, here’s the quote follow by the source: “Yesterday we were in a meeting with some staff working in the career of Britney Spears and told us that the new disc is recorded by 70% and their plan is to launch on Halloween since the concept of the album will be very dark and subliminal also talks of a tour, which is ruled by the last time for the tentative dates for the launches are, the album in October and single at the end of August talked about the concept of this new stage and as I say goes to be very subliminal and dark.”

SiA talks about new album “We Are Born,” feeling miserable

Not happy to hear that SiA is feeling miserable these days, but last time she felt this way she released the monumental Colour The Small One. It’s hard to believe that such an acclaimed artist is not making any money. It’s sad really, but we have high hopes for We Are Born and we hope it gets her the appreciation she deserves so she could stay and not become a full-time songwriter because we’d miss her beautiful face.

The remix album that was supposed to bring out the best from the Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel sessions is nowhere to be found. The original release date was supposed to be March 30, 2010 preceded by the two singles “Up Out My Face” with Nicki Minaj and “Angels Cry” with Ne-Yo, but there has been no news about it and the album cover art hasn’t surfaced yet. In the Japanese lists for album releases, the album has “release cancelled” on it. Click here to check it out. Mariah’s actions as of late have been very disregarding of her lambs. It’s one thing to cancel an album, it’s another not to announce it until fans hear of it from another source. It’s seems that Mariah does not care any longer for her loyal fan base.

Janet Jackson to release new song for “Why Did I Get Married, Too”

Jermaine Dupri has just announced on his twitter page that Janet Jackson is releasing a song titled “Nothing” for the soundtrack of the Tyler Perry movie Why Did I Get Married, Too. The single will come out on March 30th. That’s really close.  Excited for it, but we feel like it’s going to be a ballad.

Robyn to release 3 albums in 2010!

After a long hiatus (at least for us), Robyn is releasing not one, not two, but three album in 2010! That is the plan for now at least. Robyn recorded a whole album that includes a collaboration with Royksopp titled “None Of Dem,” “Dance Hall Queen” which has leaked, “Fembot,” “Dancing On My Own” and the laundry-list complaint song “Don’t Fucking Tell Me What To Do.” But, she is going to chop up the tracklisting and make tiny album that she doesn’t regard as EP’s to release throughout the year. Her excuse is that people don’t full albums anymore in the digital age and smaller bites makes for tastier ones. We agree. At any rate, anything from Robyn is more than welcome.

Robyn launches new album with mini-documentary

Robyn’s new release in 2010 will be here before the summer as she says in the documentary and it will be dance-oriented. This little documentary made for Swedish TV shows you how much effort she puts into her pop world. Everything from the mixing to the logo to the photography to the song choice and lyrics is up to her choice. She even listen to the songs on car speakers to make sure fans get the quality they deserve. Now, that’s passion. Jewel to release new album in June

We really are not too excited about this news. The truth is we haven’t like anything Jewel has done in years since 0304. Her first and second albums were monumental, until she decided to do some twang and switch from folk to country. Her third album was nice and her experimental dance  album of adequate. But, the albums that came after – Goodbye Alice In Wonderland and Perfectly Clear - were complete balderdash, only to top it off with the monumentally gross Lullaby. Well, the next album is not going to be any better by the sounds of its as she is meddling with the country sound again in her Texas ranch. They new single “Stay Here Forever” doesn’t sound promising either.

Erykah Badu has previously vowed not to release the album should anything after her collaboration with Lil Wayne “Jump Up In The Air And Stay There” leaks. Now the first single, which saw the arrival of its artwork to the blogosphere recently, has leaked in its full quality all over the internet. We hope that Erykah Badu releases New Amerykah, Part 2: The Return Of The Ankh and doesn’t forbid us from some smooth sultry beats.

This song can go places given the right promotion. The video’s midway OK. This is the second single off of her debut album, which has been titled Lights.

Mariah Carey’s album “Angels Advocate” pushed back

Mariah Carey’s remix album to Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel has been pushed back. Angels Advocate was being readied for a February release but now is slated for March. The album is set to include both dance versions and R&B versions of her songs. But, delays are always the case for Mariah albums. So, Memoirs will have to quench your thirst for now.

Beyonce to take a break, Solange starts working on album

The hardest working woman in showbusiness has decided that she will take a six month hiatus to concentrate on other things. Perhaps, a trip to Harbor Island? Or maybe a safari in Botswana? She probably will be working, but she wants to keep it quiet for at least six months so that her comeback single and album can get that big buzz and maybe that will make her first single a signified hit without being of quality as it did for “If I Were A Boy.”

Anyway, that is not that real news that we here at Loft965.com  are interested in. The real news is that he very talented and arguably better sister Solange is embarking on recording her third album. She will release it independently and will work with Australian band Midnight Juggernauts. This smells good, we hope it tastes good.

Kylie Minogue already has 8 tracks for new album!

Kylie Minogue has apparently already recorded 8 tracks for her 11th full-length studio album. Yes, The album’s pretty much recorded. Stuart Price has explained that the album has some way to go, but should be ready by the end of 2010. The album is going to be straight up dance and pop. Furthermore, N-Dubz has submitted some tracks but it is not yet known if they will be included on the album track listing.

Nelly Furtado will release English album this May!

It has been revealed that Nelly Furtado is releasing a new English album after her release on the Spanish Mi Plan. The track list is set to allegedly include songs that have been translated and some songs that are new. No word yet on the name or the tracks. Let’s hope she does something deep and not just collaborations with Timbaland.
