Moby slams homophobic group ad!
What Moby had to say on his official website: “Oh, some people have drawn my attention to the fact that a homophobic ad campaign is using ‘Porcelain’. Needless to say we:
a-didn’t approve this
and
b-have contacted them with a very firm ‘cease and desist’ letter.
It goes without saying that I’d never let an anti-gay marriage campaign use my music.
Eat da poo poo!
4Wow, he is very well researched! We wonder how many hours of work and experience it took for him to come up with all that. Some African conservatives are going crazy following the release of the Malawi couple unjustly jailed for being gay. Now, leave it to the perverted conservatives to equate a simple matter of love to coprophilia. This is coming from Uganda. Doesn’t Uganda have other issues to discuss. Sitting around talking about fisting is fun, but how about the country’s record of human rights abuses or corruption?
Documentary on homophobia!
2We want to watch all of this, it sounds intriguing. They should teach this at school.
Premiere: Video: “Chase The Tear” by Portishead
Portishead’s 3rd album came after a long hiatus in front of a musical world that has departed the trip hop days. Their sound wass louder and more industrial. Their album, aptly titled Third, didn’t do as well as expected. However, they are back with a sound that is closer to that that put them on the map with this Amnesty International single that was debuted on Human Rights Day. “Chase The Tear” is a reference to a tear in paper, not a tear that comes out of an eye.
American Apparel releases more activism t-shirts
2American Apparel has gone and done it again. They are set to release two more t-shirts that are political oriented. This comes after “Legalize LA,” which as for reform in California’s legal system. Then came “Legalize Gay,” which is a call for ending discrimination whether it’s Prop 8 or other laws. Now, AA has decided to release t-shirts that depict scenes from early pride parades when it was more politics and less glam.
Obama addresses the LGBT community…
On his side again. What a moving speech. No international news channel broadcast this (except for a tiny bit in BBC International). They should have really. This message of change should’ve gotten across to the world because it’s not just an American issue, it’s an international issue. When the world listen to one of the most loved public figures the world over say such things they might realize that this is a issue of concern and look around them. Hate, in any form, should never be accepted. One’s beliefs shouldn’t curtail another person’s road to happiness. Anyway, getting too preachy here. But, you get the point. Click below for the rest of the speech.
Brad Pitt talks liberalism with Bill Maher
2Why is what he said so controversial? It’s liberalism 101. He is so guarded, yet so passionate. Yes, legalization of marijuana is a right, yes gay marriage is a human right and yes the right to no religion is a human right. Get over yourselves good-bye and get over it! If you don’t believe in something it doesn’t mean that other people shouldn’t enjoy these rights. Sit down on your couch, do what you feel is right and shut the fuck up.
Bill Maher’s revelation of the “Christian Mafia”
“If you are a person who is successful or in power, you are there because god wants you there.” That’s some powerful stuff that makes the religious stand up and justify their violence and hatred. We see it the world over. This, to them, OK’s Pol Pot and Hitler and all the dictators who are within breach of human rights. This also defies the core of what American should be. The merging of church and state and we all know how that goes. The religious czars really believe that they are devoid of law and ethics (or moral) no not apply to them. It’s a dangerous concept that we see in our day-to-day life here but turn a blind eye because some of us are so used to it.
Marc Jacobs designs pro-gay rights t-shirts
4
In the quest for equality and human rights, the newly-married Marc Jacobs has released a series of t-shirt that demand equal rights for marriage. Good point, why should gay people be taxed if they can’t live equal lives and can’t get their right to pursuit of happiness, which the US constitution cites explicitly.
These t-shirts cost $24. The proceeds will go directly to the Human Rights Campaign. They will be available in all Marc by Marc Jacobs stores hopefully around the world.
SiA Furler cries about Prop 8
2Get liberal and get rich

Ideas are pouring in to fix this global economic crisis. From legalizing marijuana to decriminalizing prostitution to revisiting Karl Marx’s theories to legalizing gay marriage to salary ceilings to supporting worker unions to being eco-friendly and now: the supposedly new and great idea of battling corruption.
It’s amazing how all these great liberal ideas have been floating around for centuries and they only get attention when people feel the pinch of the penny. People get liberal when they need the money, is that how it goes?
And sexism still prevails…

Obama to end discrimination against gays in the military…
It’s about time. Finally, someone is getting rid of that little sordid law. It was government-sanctioned homophobia, anyway. I’m glad it’s one of the first things Obama will do. Maybe it’s a reaction to the Rick Warren thing. Notice how the reporter says “a gay.”
