Everyone needs a good morning song that will get you up and going. This surprisingly upbeat track from Lisa Hannigan’s second LP, Passenger. “What’ll I Do” is the audible equivalent of a caffeine jolt. It’s one of this optimistic folk-tinted songs that are so catchy, they can become nursery rhymes. Not that there is anything juvenile about this track, but its so cheery, its sprightly. Definitely another one of the highlight tracks on Lisa Hannigan’s impressive album and the video’s not too bad either!

Sexy Track: “Diet Mountain Dew” by Lana Del Rey
There’s a lot of talk concerning Lana Del Rey performance during Saturday Night Live. Many naysayers are raising every flag they can against her artistry. Fortunately, most of those people know zilch about pop music. Alternative hipsters and mainstream junkies can sit aside and admire the allure of the 21st century pop star. No need for vocals, as demonstrated by Madonna’s lengthy career. It’s all about the visual and if the song sound delicious after the studio treatment then its good to go. You don’t believe us? Just ask Lady Gaga and Ke$ha, whom we love both (Ke$ha more than Gaga). This song demonstrates this pop culture newcomer that has already propelled herself to icon status. Just like Diet Mountain Dew, it’s sugary, fresh and ready to sell. It merges a darkened blues underlying with a light fluffy concept. This is lovely.
Sexy Track: “White Nights” by Oh Land
1Songs with catchy choruses are a few and far in-between these days. In this case, Oh Land mastered the chorus and perhaps got a PhD in it along the way. This track is a fresh and up summer song that will leave you humming for days on end with its quirky lyrics and buoyant nature. You can hum to the drum of Oh Land’s “White Nights,” but its definitely not hum-drum.

Madonna and Lady GaGa on Saturday Night Live
2That skit wasn’t really funny at all. It’s kind of awkward. The two of them together is special. But, when it comes to acting or being funny, it’s just a disaster. Why is Madonna trying to be up in the Haus of GaGa. Remember when she came up behind Ricky Martin after his Grammys performance and tried to steal some of his stardust. This reminds me of that. Also, GaGa calling herself an icon? Laughable! Oh, the queens are going to get mad!
