They had to pick Shakira to represent Africa? Why? is Africa short of beautiful women with great voices? Lira should have done this and if she doesn’t open the games then this is just an African event by name, at least for us music fans who don’t give two shits about football.
First, the Spanish version “Gitana” came out and now the English one is here. We like this song a whole lot. We are glad Shakira picked it as a single.
We love her the more we see her. She’s a gypsy, are you coming with me?
She’s mixing up the single sequence and she hasn’t given “Did It Again” a time to breathe yet. This is probably one of the weakest singles Shakira has ever released and it is an obvious plea to tap the hip hop market. It’s not working.
The performance is just awkward and the song is horrid. She should have done “Did It Again” or “Gypsy.” Even “She Wolf” would have been better. This album has some great songs and completely bad ones. Nothing in the middle.
The Natalie Merchant bit is spot-on.
“Gypsy” is by far our favorite song on She Wolf. We can’t stop listening to it. She always makes great use of instruments that usually fit on pop templates. The album crosses the world over with its genres. If the record company has any sense, they would release this song as a single.
Shakira is already on her second single even if the album’s been pushed back until November 23rd. “She Wolf” is exactly what happens when one has a lot of star power but not a good lead-single. A memorable video and dance, but a tired old disco knock-0ff. This one’s a bit better, but “Gypsy” should have been next in line. Say what you want, but one thing’s for sure – the girl’s flexible.
Shakira’s English version of the album She Wolf has hit the blogosphere hard. It has leaked in full retail high quality. It’s her take on a more electronic sound.
lols. It’s actually the same quality as Shakira’s video!
We managed to catch it the second it came out and here it is. The Shakira single that has gotten so many mixed reviews you have to hear it for yourself. We like anything disco here at Loft965, so it’s OK with us even if she howls like a wolf. Some say the Spanish version “Loba” is better. But, I’d rather understand what she is saying with the defective voice of hers. Our friends hate it muchly but we couldn’t help but feature it on our next compilation. We hope the album has better tunes. They say it’s “electronic.”
