Kelis to release new video for “Acapella” on Monday!
Christina Aguilera did a countdown. Erykah Badu followed. Now, Kelis is in on it too. The newly independent (from hubby) singer is ready to re-launch her career with dance floor banger “Acapella.” The video for it will be out on Monday on here site. Click here to visit or just watch the countdown.
New Christina Aguilera video? Or Goldfrapp? Maybe GaGa?
1There’s a huge buzz circulating around the blogosphere (we are using this word today in commemoration of the fact that the person who coined it had just died) is these two videos of a “mystery” artist, being promoted by an anonymous Twitter account by the name of @iamamiwhoami. These are two clips of an upcoming album of some artist that is yet to be known. It could be goldfrapp’s “Rocket” and it might be. The first single from the return to dance-synth. But, we feel like Goldfrapp, as fabulous as she is, can’t afford that type of video.
Also, Goldfrapp is already doing something anonymously under the name Sylvie Nylon, so why should she conjure up something else. It’s to much of a diversion. Next, GaGa. It would be her because she is in the middle of The Fame Monster and it’s too dressed down for her. Our prediction is that it’s none other than Christina Aguilera. No one licks like that except Christina. And, she has always been the kind to shock and awe before and album. Plus, the features on the licky monster are so xtina-ish.

Over the weekend there have been reports that a never-before-heard Michael Jackson song by the name of “Another Day” has leaked. It’s supposed to be some sort of collaboration with Lenny Kravitz, although Mr. Kravitz does not appear in the 90 second snippet that has been leaked around the web. This song is allegedly supposed to surface on another Michael Jackson offering slated for this year, perhaps on the anniversary of his death? At any rate, we know MJ has a catalogue on untapped material and we can’t wait to hear all of it. We will make ready when it’s in it’s full format, possibly. Click below for the snippet.

Before there was Lady GaGa, there was Goldfrapp. And after a little hiatus and a folk-inspired album, she is back to her dance roots. These are some promo pictures for upcoming and highly-anticipated new return-to-form album Head First, which is slated for a March release. We can’t wait!

1These are two clips from Margaret Cho’s 5th stand-up comedy DVD titled Beautiful. It has taken a while for Margaret to put out a DVD since Assassin. And it’s her first in with democratic administration in office. So, the DVD’s going to be a little different with the usual great mixture of preachiness and laughs.

Now, you can listen to snippets of all of Mariah Carey’s songs on Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel over at LoopGum.com. The tracks sound very scrumptious and very soulful. There are a bunch of slow numbers and good percentage of midtempo. As per usual, there’s an absence of uptempo, but that never hurt Mariah. The interludes, reprises and prologues all sound like great syncers and stand-alones. This is our take, but then again we are huge fans.
