Nikki Williams, a 23-year-old singer/songwriter from South Africa, moved to Nashville at the age of 16. One night at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel while standing near the bathroom singing to herself, talent manager/label owner Breyon Prescott (Brandy, Jamie Foxx) walked by and became mesmerized by her soul-stirring, searing voice and signed her on the spot. Breyon soon brought his label (Chameleon) to Island Def Jam, and Nikki Williams is his first artist to be released under the new partnership. Nikki is now back in Nashville finishing her debut album, which will be released in early 2013.
If you are like us, you absolutely loved Solange’s sophomore album Sol-Angel & The Hadley Street Dreams. It has been four years since we heard from her. Now she is ready to unleash some new material our way. The track will be titled “Losing You” and the video will be shot in Cape Town, South Africa. Apparently, it will be in documentary-style and is produced by the same people who worked with Florence + The Machine!
