Before GaGa was GaGa, she was partying hard! So hard that she became familiar with blow and acid way too much. She was apparently addicted to cocaine and LSD (we don’t know how someone can be addicted to lysergide but we’ll let that one go). Whilst having “bags and bags” of the angel dust, GaGa self-intervened herself with the memory of her poetess aunt who died at the age of 19. Here’s what GaGalicious said: “I thought I was going to die. I wanted to be the artists I loved, like Mick Jagger and Andy Warhol, and I thought the only way to do it was to live the lifestyle. My cocaine soundtrack was always The Cure. I would lock myself in my room and listen to ‘Never Enough’ on repeat while I did bags and bags of cocaine….”
Leona Lewis covers Oasis’s “Stop Crying Your Heart Out”
1Leona Lewis visited X-Factor to sing her version of Oasis’s “Stop Crying Your Heart Out” from their album Heathen Chemistry and her album Echo. The song is one of the best considering the balderdash on the album. This comes as a surprise because Noel Gallagher himself has criticized Leona Lewis for covering Snow Patrol’s “Run” last year. Maybe the money’s good now that Oasis are no longer?

Annie’s dilemma is a big one. She had this album ready a year ago and it leaked prematurely. Then it never got releases, got shelved and then there was the abyss. Now, she revamped some tracks and the whole concept. Gave it the best artwork of the year (above). Then readied it up with a new single to mingle. Again, it has leaked prematurely. It must suck for her right about now.
Jad Choueiri does another laughable video for “Stop Popping Pills”
21Just when we thought that Jad Choueiri couldn’t be more of a cliched tacky wannabe, he goes and outdoes himself. This time, in his quest to propel his drug-persona, he has opted for a house song with some of the worst vocals we had heard in a while (and Heidi Montag has an album coming out). It’s called “Stop Popping Pills,” which is contradictory as we have all seen him tweaking a couple of times. Regardless of what substance he abuses or uses, because he can do whatever he pleases, but it’s only bad because it’s been done before so many times and in the same format. This, still, won’t break him to the English-speaking market he was trying to attain and maintain. This whole album is a failed attempt at trying to cross over and it won’t happen if all he does is regurgitated tracks. If you are trying to break a market don’t try to imitate, but try to add. In any case, his videos are so painful to look at, one can’t help but watch. As my friend puts it: “Stop making videos,” is more like it.

Finally, news from Maxwell who has taken a hiatus so long that he might well be considered a new artists. I seriously don’t understand how an artist would abandon their fan base for so long and then expect a swift return. Last time he was around was with Now. That was 8 years ago. But, now he is about to release a trilogy of album titled Black Summer’s Night. The first one is Black and it slated for a summer release. The new piece of information we get is the track listing. BBC Broadcaster and world-renowned naturalist has joined Optimum Population Trust, which addresses the “taboo” subject of over-population. He said that human numbers are “frightening” and they should be curbed in order to maintain the natural state of the earth and the struggling wildlife. I don’t understand why it’s a “taboo” subject as the BBC is reporting. It’s plain and simple, stop thinking you own this earth and start breeding less. Nothing more, nothing less. In any case, wildlife aside, i don’t get why anyone would want to bring children into this world without securing a great standard of living for them.

Introducing… Erin McCarley
Love, Save The Empty is Erin McCarley’s debut album and it is a mixture of pompous folk and moody rock. It is like a cross between Sheryl Crow, KT Tunstall and Chantal Kreviazuk. My current favorites are “Blue Suitcase” and “Sticky Sweet.” I watched he perform live on David Letterman and she was great. I am looking forward to listening more.

‘Wasta’ prevents ‘Spider’-woman’s deportationKuwait : The Indian woman who goes by the name ‘Spider’ and is being held at the Deportation Center is said to have been referred to the Criminal Investigation Department following intervention of some influential people to release her, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. Earlier it was reported action on a tip-off police armed with a search and arrest warrant, in cooperation with personnel from the Ministry of Communications had raided a shop in Murgab and arrested the ‘Spider’ and her three Asian accomplices for trading in international calls via the Internet. The same sources said police had also seized from the gang KD 600 in cash and 56 communication devices including stop watches. The sources added ‘Spider’ had earlier been arrested on four occasions and detained at the Deportation Center but was ‘bailed out’ of prison by some influential people. Police also said securitymen were looking for three other men who escaped when police closed in on the shop.
There are many things I don’t understand from this Arab Times article. First, why is she called ‘spider’-woman. Second, why are the ‘influential people’ nameless. Third, her crime was that she was using Skype? And finally, when did stop watched become illegal. I demand a clarification.
