1Antony & The Johnsons to release “Swanlights,” collaborate with Björk
A new Antony & The Johnsons EP has leaked today and that got us wondering about their new album. The band are set to release their fourth album Swanlights this october it will feature a collaboration with none other than Icelandic goddess Björk. The song will be called “Flétta” and will be the return collaboration on Bjork’s side after the melancholic “The Dull Flame Of Desire” on Volta. Click below for the tracklisting.
Official cover art for Röyksopp’s “Senior” revealed!
5We are huge fans of the Norwegian duo, but we have to say that this has got to be the worst album cover art job of the year. We get that it’s introspective, atmospheric and dark, but the sleeve could have been done much better. The horrid font and the hazy picture don’t speak for what is supposed to be the dimmer sister of Junior. Let’s hope the beats on Senior are dope. It comes out September 13. Click below for the track list.
Christina Aguilera’s track list for “Bionic” is out!
1Robyn launches new album with mini-documentary
Robyn’s new release in 2010 will be here before the summer as she says in the documentary and it will be dance-oriented. This little documentary made for Swedish TV shows you how much effort she puts into her pop world. Everything from the mixing to the logo to the photography to the song choice and lyrics is up to her choice. She even listen to the songs on car speakers to make sure fans get the quality they deserve. Now, that’s passion. We can’t wait for the album as she released one of the greatest albums in pop history last time around. Click below for the rest of the documentary.

John Mayer unveils official cover and track listing for “Battle Studies”
2That’s a nice cover. The typeface fits well, too. He’s looking prettier with age. And gayer, apparently. At any rate, his new song is beautiful and we have a feeling that this will be a big one for John Mayer. Continuum, his last, was his best effort and he seems to be on a progress streak. Battle studies contains a track featuring Taylor Swift and a cover of a late blues musician Robert Johnson’s “Crossroads.” Click below for the track list.
P!nk to release live CD/DVD of Funhouse Tour
1Mariah Carey reveals track listing for Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel
4Yes. It has arrived. The official tracklisting to the much-delayed Mariah Carey album Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel. We are mucho excited for this one. She trying to re-tap her early days as you can tell by the gospel-tinted version of “I Want To Know What Love Is.” I am surprised by all the obsessed remixes. But, hey, the more the merrier. Click below for the full track listing. Oh, and I love Mariah interludes!!
Cassie reveals track listing for new album Electro Love
12Alphabeat announce new album titled “The Spell”
2Our favorite Danes (second only to Tina Dico) have already completed a new album that was rumored to be called This Is Still Alphabeat, but have announced that it will actually be The Spell, which is a song that will be on the album. The Spell is going to be out in October in an already crammed year. Songs that will be included are “Heart Failure,” “DJ,” “Chess” and the title track. The band say that they are not staying with the sound they came popular for but will take a different route in inspiration of 90s’ early house bands like Blackbox and Snap!, which is super appealing. We love both bands.
Exclusive: Video: “Wild About It” by Natalie Imbruglia
1We are very excited to catch the new Natalie Imbruglia the second it came out. The number of views is in the 2 digits and we already love the song. She is newly-independent and ready to reclaim her glory. She has disappeared for a while to record Come To Life, which is set for the third quarter release. The song is a little quieter than we expect from the “Torn” singer, but it’s a grower and is probably only a snippet of what’s to come on her highly-anticipated upcoming album.
Update: this is not the first single, it’s just a teaser. The official first single will be released in September and it will be called “Want.” Also, as we stated, the album is slated for an October 5th release. Excited!
Madonna reveals cover for Celebration
4In classic Madonna fashion, this cover shows how far the talentless diva is willing to go to capitalize on former victories. Not only is this a greatest hits collection, but the picture for the cover is also an old picture of Madge. To save up, she went back in her photo gallery, put a little eye shadow on it and here it is, the cover. Madonna also changed the name from Iconography to Celebration. Why you ask? To give the single some extra promotion. The title for the single sounds fun, but let’s see what she does with it. Until now, boring effort.
Melanie Fiona crosses “The Bridge”
Melanie Fiona, one of our highly anticipated acts of 2009, finally released her album cover and tracklisting (click below to see it). It contains the songs that gave her the buzz that she deserves (“Give It To Me Right,” “It Kills Me” and “Sad Songs”). This Canadian songstress is bringing back soul mentality without the throwback aspect that everyone and their brother is trying to capitalize on. The cover’s nice. Obv, it’s called The Bridge.
Exclusive: Mariah Carey to release new song this tuesday
2It’s amazing what a little tweet can do. Mariah Carey just announced, to many people’s amazement, that the first single off of her upcoming album Memoirs Of An Imperfect Princess is called “Obsessed” and will be released this tuesday. This is how the tweet went:
“The 1st single from my new album “Memoirs of an imperfect angel” is called “Obsessed” and will be at radio next tuesday. I’m a lil’ excited!”
The album was slated for a late September release, but that was tentative and almost every Mariah album has been pushed back before. So, to have the single hit radio (and the blogosphere inevitably) this early was somewhat of a surprise. Who knows? Maybe she is trying to give Whitney Houston a break and not release the album at the same time or maybe she is just so happy with the product that it is ready for a release. Sudden releases are good because they make a bigger impact.
