Rihanna releases official cover art for her album “LOUD”

1

The sleeve artwork for Rihanna’s new album LOUD has arrived and it seem like it is from the same session as the one for “The Only Girl (In The World).” It’s more laid back than Rated R and, judging from the first single, has the potential to sound better. The title alludes to it being a screamer, but that can go either way. Let’s hope the rest is as good as the first single.

iStraw: Drink safely when you travel…

istraw

For people who like to travel to places that are not London-Paris-Rome or the like, this is the greatest little thing ever invented. It’s a travel straw for your drinks incase you feel the ice was made from contaminated water or for places where bottled water pass particles resting in the bottom (Hello Batam, Indonesia). It purifies while you sip. So it’s easy peasy. Anyway, click for the info.

Astana is the next Dubai

1

Borat really didn’t do Kazakhstan justice. Neither did he do gay culture justice with Bruno, but that’s another topic. The truth is all the -stans are really all burgeoning into a prosperous region for their fairly young independent history. Doha has always wanted to be the next Dubai, but Astana is more like it. They have many million-dollar projects going on as you can see in the video, that Astana, a small city of just under a million heads, is bound to be the next big metropolis, especially considering that that part of the world is in need of focal point of commerce and culture. Astana might be it.

I Am In: Warsaw, Poland

1

Other than the fact that we are the brownest people around, Warsaw is turing out to be a lovely city with many things to do. It’s reputation of being a gray and dull city is long gone. Yet, the Eastern European feel has yet to whither away following the country’s entrance into the European Union. The old city is whimsical and feels like it came out of a fairy tale. The food is, surprisingly, exceptional with Polish dishes reigning supreme, especially meats and soups. The cold is bitter and unforgiving, but I guess that’s what you get when you go to Poland in March. The communist architecture and old world atmosphere makes up for it. So far, spectacular.

On March 29th, 2009 this is what the Schengen will look like with the full implementaion if Switzerland’s inclusion. Now you can roam all of Western Europe (excluding the UK and Ireleand, because they have an agreement on their own). Romania and Bulgaria are in the process of getting in by 2011. Croatia is up next and Cyprus will be when the Northern Cyprus dispute is resolved. That’s 25 countries on one visa.
