Premiere: Video: “H.A.T.E.U.” by Mariah Carey

2

This is mariah’s third single and we would not have chosen it to be one, but any sexy video from Mariah rolling around on a beach is a treat and a half. The video is short and it cuts out the fun licks in the song, but it must be the last one from the non-remix album, or maybe there’s some room for “Angels Cry,” which she named the tour after. The video is directed by Brett Ratner and it’s really not that spectacular. But, we’ll take it. All you need is a wind machine!

Mariah Carey’s third single from Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel is here. The music video was shot on November 4th and 6th 2009, and was directed by Mariah’s friend Brett Ratner who previously directed music videos for “Obsessed”, “Touch My Body”, “We Belong Together” and “It’s Like That.” The video was shot on Malibu Beach, in California. The video will premiere on the night of December 8, 2009, on VEVO, which is tonight. If you get the Vevo blog that means it’s not up yet. They are trying to launch big with Mariah’s video. Meanwhile, you can watch a video of Adam Lambert throwing a TV out of his hotel room. Fun.

Premiere: Video: “I Look To You” by Whitney Houston

“Million Dollar Bill” was supposed to be the first single from I Look To You. We were surprised that this ballad came first, but it makes sense. People want the old Whitney back. This is the closest thing. She’s looking demure and preened, isn’t she?

Whitney Houston is officially back

I Look To You is out now and then 7-year wait is over! Not too sure about all these rave reviews. It’s not that lush, but it has some kind of momentum. Maybe because of the long haitus or it’s a good LP, haven’t decided which one yet. And all these songs are “hit songs?” Not really. None are. “I Look To You” and “I Didn’t Know My Own Strength” are two early leaks.

“Million Dollar Bill” is the single but it has yet to make a wave or two. There’s still no video for it, which is very unusual for a big time artist to have an album out before the first video. Maybe it’ll debut soon to bring in the buzz. At any rate, it’s an Okay album and that’s about it. Maybe the remixes will pull it up. Click below for her Ebony cover and a vintage clip of cheese.

It’s been 8 years since Aaliyah died

7

Eight years ago this time we lost one of the best soul and R&B stars that ever existed. Her music still resonates. Time flies by so quickly. When her last pre-death album Aaliyah was truly one of the best soul album ever. She left with us with three album, each of which had an impact on R&B in the 90s’. Her legacy will not fade. This song is so emotionally draining. Why is Toni Braxton acting all sexy in this video? The woman died!

Must-Watch: Video: “Fuck You” by Lily Allen

Great song and great fun of a video. It’s inspired by the iPhone, apparently. Although the song is about George Bush, it still works for everything that makes one angry. The picture in the polaroid is the same as her picture on Twitter. The next single was slated to be “22″ but this is replacing it now. I didn’t think they’d release it because it wont get played on radio. Maybe radio is not that important anymore.
