Video Premiere: “Diet Mountain Dew” by Lana Del Rey

Our favorite song from Lana Del Rey’s Born To Die has finally gotten the video treatment. The video leaked before its release and its in the same style are “Video Games.” We think that the starlet should have invested more in the video and given it a full treatment not a silly montage like this one. We imagined her with a big gulp walking around the meat-packing district on a nice summer day.

Sexy Track: “Born To Die” by Lana Del Rey

Lana Del Rey is inevitably taking over 2012. That is not to say that she has built enough buzz without content. But her name is out there and the sound behind her is scrumptious. This lullaby of hopelessness is a sullen tribute to old hollywood. Jazz sensibility also takes over this pop song. Her vocals are muddled in malaise of grandeur which befits the theme of the song perfectly. When it comes down to it, popular music has never heard anything like Lana Del Rey. Now, she might not have versatility to broaden her sound come album release time, but until then she is exactly on the right track.

We ♥ Lana Del Rey

Soko tweeted her disapproval of a singer named Lana Del Rey on twitter and we couldn’t help but YouTube her. What we found is an unsurpassed beauty with great pipes and haunting lyrics administrated with lazy vocals. A potent and somewhat new formula for her kind a music – a fusion between old-hollywood glamor with a strong jazz sensibility. After listening to “Yayo” and “Video Games” we have fallen in love with this lovely singer. She carries herself with poise and is not afraid to challenge the ideals of vocal rules with her sound. Genre cross-breads rarely sound so scrumptious and when they do they break new ground in the pop world, like what Amy Winehouse did. We look forward to hearing from Lizzy Grant, her real name.

Introducing… Lana Del Rey

Lana Del Rey is the newest kid on the block. Although she looks like a Hollywood starlet, she sings in a sullen, dark voice songs of sorrow. Her tracks “Video Games” and “Blue Jeans” are taking off like no other. It is somewhat surprising as the genre is a bluesy jazz that doesn’t frequent the charts much. Her real name is real name Lizzy Grant – a singer/songwriter from Lake Placid, New York, United States. She released her debut album, Lana Del Rey in 2010 and issued the “Video Games” single in October 2011. She is known for being an internet sensations. Her powerful lyrics, singing ability and aesthetic looks got her places. Let’s hope the album hold a lot more hits, but if not, she could be an actress.

Official cover of Adele’s album “21″

November is here and we finally get to hear about Adele‘s sophomore album. It’s titled after her age again, this time 21. Last time it was 19. It is coming out sometime in 2011, but no word yet on when exactly. The album cover is not that great. But, let’s hope the tracks are as good.

Official cover art of Sharon Corr’s new solo album!

We don’t get why anyone would want to give her a record deal especially after the fact that her sister, who was the lead vocalist of the Corrs, Andrea Corr failed miserably at her solo record. But, she’s worth the try, we guess. We are definitely going to give it a right spin, but not too hopeful for it. Click below for the tracklisting.
