14 06 2010

An introduction is coming up this week on Omar Afuni, a talented young singer and songwriter that is taking YouTube by storm. But, this is just a little teaser of his capabilities. We have to say this is better than Xtina’s version.

Video Premiere: “Bang Bang Bang” by Mark Ronson

14 06 2010

After the huge success of Version, Mark Ronson is ready to show a more original side to him. His new album is called Record Collection and its set for a September release. This is the first single off of it. It has a tint of 90s’ break beat that is muchly missed.

Video Premiere: “Waka Waka (This Time For Africa)” by Shakira

9 06 2010

They had to pick Shakira to represent Africa? Why? is Africa short of beautiful women with great voices? Lira should have done this and if she doesn’t open the games then this is just an African event by name, at least for us music fans who don’t give two shits about football.

Video premiere of Lady Gaga’s single “Alejandro”

25 05 2010

The third single from The Fame Monster and Lady Gaga’s favorite track “Alejandro” is set to grace the internet any time today. “The Gaga camp has allegedly just announced that the video for the third single from The Fame Monster, “Alejandro,” will début to the world on May 25th, 2010. That’s this Tuesday. We still think the song sounds like Ace Of Base’s remake of “Don’t Turn Around.” But, as with Gaga, the video will be fabulous and it stars Mr. Walliams of Little Britain fame. Also, Lady Gaga is showing some nipple action and frolicking with a snake. A two-eyed one. Let’s hope for the bestest!” Yeah, we did all of this to tease the shit out of you, what do you think?

Video Premiere: “Ay Yo” by Melanie Fiona

27 04 2010

Melanie Fiona is still well on her campaign of promoting her debut album with the Alicia Keys tour being the highlight and this single carrying on the album’s airplay and videoplay. Although we think there are stronger tracks on the album, this will do well in some genre charts.

The new single is “Easy” and this is the video for it. We like “Liar” a lot, but we don’t think this is a bad choice from Fixin’ To Thrill.

Alexandra Burke to release “All Night Long” with Pitbull as single

21 03 2010

Alexandra Burke (or her record company) have/has decided to release “All Night Long” as the third single from her album Overcome. “Why” you ask? Well, to put it plainly, because Pitbull is hot right now and they want to jump on that bandwagon. But, if you ask me, “Dumb” deserves a release as it is a standout.

Lady GaGa gives tribute to Alexandar McQueen at Brit Awards

16 02 2010

Lady GaGa has allegedly been very fussy about her appearance on the Brit Awards that the organizers are fed up with her and replaced her 9-minute time slot with Cheryl Cole with a smaller timeframe. As if that is not enough, GaGa allegedly got a Rolls Royce for her performance of “Poker Face” which would segue to “Telephone,” but now has opted for a more toned down performance after Alexander McQueen’s death, whom she was a great fan of. She is now rumored to perform a sad stripped-down version of “Bad Romance.”

One of the best shows on TV, RuPaul’s Drag Race, debuts in its second season today on Logo. The hype is building up and we can’t help but find out who the winner is. Premiere: Video: “Angels Cry” by Mariah Carey

28 01 2010

This is the second installation of the double-A side combo. The two tracks are supposed to satisfy both markets – Hip Hop and Adult Contemporary. We wish Mariah had put more effort into this video. It’s looks like a merging of “One Sweet Day” with “Through The Rain.” It’s just not happening at all even if we are hardcore lambs. Angels Advocate better have some surprises in store.

Jimmy Kimmel destroys Jay Leno

17 01 2010

Seriously, we have no sympathy for Jay Leno and what he has done. His little diplomacy scheme to kick Conan O’Brien out, to weasel himself into something he had already promised to give. It just shows how inconsiderate and ultimately arrogant he is. Anyway, Conan is the voice of a new generation and NBC would be doing wrong to bring the old dog and the old tricks all at once.

Natalie Merchant to release new album in March!

13 01 2010

Since The House Carpenter’s Daughter was released in 2003 Natalie Merchant has been absent. We had the great privilege of seeing her live at Boston Pop a while back, but she only perform 4 songs and only one from her previous albums. Imagine! But, we love her to death as she is one of the greatest singers/songwriters of our generation and indie artists need as much support as they can. The new album will be out in March and it will be called Leave Your Sleep. She will follow that with a return to Lilith Fair. It’s the mid-90s’ all over again! Check out the above video to get a snippet of her great career.

Premiere: Video: “Brothersport” by Animal Collective

9 01 2010

Animal Collective’s Merriweather Post Pavilion is one of the most experimental and delightful albums of 2009. It’s a muddle, but it’s strong. It will make every hipster cry “Yes!” We liked its sonic confidence. This is the colorful new video to its new, dare we say, single.
