M.I.A. continues war against Lady Gaga
2“You know for me it was about the fact that I said, ‘Fuck The New York Times,’ quite a few times and it was written about and then in the article it was ignored, when that was what was interesting. So why would they put me on the cover of The New York Times? That question was really interesting to me, she (journalist) didn’t really explore it, she just took a cheap shot. For the first time you have the tools to fight back. Imagine if Amy Winehouse and Lindsay Lohan and all these people were able to fight back using the internet, because you can. The New York Times was going to try and discredit my words and my experiences. I think you know what? I might have been a bit impulsive, but I think what we have found [is] a new way to deal with news. Lady Gaga is someone who lives completely within [the industry]. That’s what you can get if you say ‘yes.’ I would have those outfits on and my hair would look like that and those are the songs I would sing. Everybody else on my label’s budget would get cut in order for my Grammy performance with Elton John to be banging.”
Robbie Williams loves weed
Robbie Williams has gone out and expressed his love for everything ganja. He said: “Weed, it’s such a lovely drug. But it doesn’t mix well with me at all. It doesn’t take much to trigger. I mean, I’ll get psychosis from having a cup of tea! The caffeine in that’s enough. A cup of tea will make me feel like shit. But it’s just a shame about weed because I did love it.”
And now some anti-drug groups living off of Nancy Reagan’s policy are angry. Seriously, if you still have an issue with cannabis you need to set your priorities straight. We don’t like it at all, but we don’t think it should be illegal. Get a grip.

Amerie missteps with new single and cover
Amerie is misstepping all over the place. First the singles seem like they don’t want to be singles. Her first attempt “Why R U” sounded like an SWV b-side. The second one pictured above “Heard ‘Em All” is a loud ruckus that doesn’t go anywhere. Plus, the new age renaissance look is not happening at all. Maybe it’s in keeping with the album concept of In Love & War, which is to close to Daniel Merriweather’s Love & War. She needs to go back to big band instrumentation like the one on “1 Thing.” That was her peak and this templated soul-pop is neither here or there. No wonder her album was pushed back. She needs some direction.

You can’t stop the people. It’s time for change for everyone.
Amerie comes back around
Amerie is back to promote her latest and 4th album to date In Love & War. Now, I have always thought that Amerie is one of the pop divas that never got enough cred for churning out a bunch of sexy numbers. The whole debacle of release of the previous album really left some hits astray that could have made a career. Still, she is coming back fierce as ever with this new effort and a new single named “Why R U,” I have yet to hear. The release is slated for late July.

The case of Obama and Iran
There has yet to be a consensus on the whole Iran issue and it seems that Obama’s hand is still outstretched for some sort of compromise not only because that would be the wise thing to do after Bush’s waging of two unlawful wars, but also because, frankly, the US can’t afford an all out debacle with Iran right about now. The Iranian government have a choice of accepting this sort-of-truce or retreating.

3Sri Lanka might have ended its 25 year civil war…

The Sri Lankan army might have closed in on the last stronghold of Tamil Tiger militants in the north part of the island. They might have moved to the forest but the Tigers are looking weakened. I am not to sure about the aggression on either side and I am a advocate the secession of any land if the people wanted so. But, an end to fighting is always great.
