Introducing… Washington!

Translator, stenographer, self-portrait with music and lyrics. At some point in the past perhaps a feeling of tipping over into madness. But what is that anyway? Somewhere she was prepared to go? A consequence? So she takes a mental polaroid of herself to remind her of this time and place. Then she goes one better and embarks on the journey to create a beautiful new work, Insomnia.

A piece of heavy and clear vinyl. The act of pulling it from the sleeve, placing it on the turntable, resting the needle and listening with your heart. Washington will take you by the hand and on a striking cinematic voyage of self discovery, rumination, confession, rebirth and renewal. Insomnia.

Sexy Track: “Far From The Storm” by Husky Rescue

This sudden new single is a result of the revamping of the band’s line-up. It is a slow-moving yet thought-provoking tune that serves as a natural byproduct to the rise and fall of the trip-hop. Its smooth yet cold, it will leave you in the dark when you went to be left there. The Finnish band are known for their smoky post-clubbing music and this is an indication that this flair hasn’t withered. Click here to download it from the band’s official website.

Introducing… Sabrina Washington

Aside from the hits, Alesha Dixon is not the only salvageable thing from Mis-Teeq. Enter Sabrina Washington, a former member of Mis-Teeq. She is the UK’s answer to LeToya Luckett. Well, she managed to land a record deal and is prepared to take over the world (maybe?) with her first single “OMG (Oh My God).” The single samples Snap!’s “Rhythm Is A Dancer” and has already gotten the video treatment which we featured a while ago. The single will be out March 22, 2010 and the album will drop a little later titled Dirty Pop.

Obama addresses the LGBT community…

On his side again. What a moving speech. No international news channel broadcast this (except for a tiny bit in BBC International). They should have really. This message of change should’ve gotten across to the world because it’s not just an American issue, it’s an international issue. When the world listen to one of the most loved public figures the world over say such things they might realize that this is a issue of concern and look around them. Hate, in any form, should never be accepted. One’s beliefs shouldn’t curtail another person’s road to happiness. Anyway, getting too preachy here. But, you get the point. Click below for the rest of the speech.

nem

Yes, it is here. The National Equality March for the advancement of LGBTQI rights is here. The march is taking place in DC and even as many didn’t know whether to go to Kylie’s concert in NYC or the National Equality March, we have a feeling that it’s going to be a big one and it’s going to rattle some tails, make some noise and annoy a couple of conservatives. Yes, a new era is here, change is here and if you don’t like it, then tough. We have that everyone has a safe and happy protest and that DC shines with rainbows everywhere. We hope is reaches all the corners of the world. Oh, rainbows!
