Behind the scenes of Ladyhawke’s “Black, White & Blue”
“Paris Is Burning” from the debut album kept us alit throughout our trip to Ho Chi Minh City, Veitnam back in the day. We listened to it non-stop on repeat and over. Other tracks didn’t really rise to the occasion, but she had a fierce entrance to the scene. This second offering, Anxiety, is probably a stronger record, purely by educated guess.

Whitney Houston interview for tour, criticizes Lady Gaga
10Whitney Houston needs to stop putting down other people. She must be referring to Lady Gaga when she talked about the costumes. What exactly is “being dark?” It’s nice to sing love songs and stand out there with a grand voice, but also having fun and putting on a show is a form of artistry. Maybe if she put on a show and did some fun costuming people wouldn’t be leaving her concerts.

3If you are looking for the drunken one, this is not it. This was her acceptance for the People’s Choice Awards show for the category of Best R&B Artist. She seems to be wearing the same old dress she wore for the Oscars that year “When You Believe” was nominated for an award. It’s really not our cup of tea, but Mariah’s a diva who can “sang,” and she puts it so we are not expecting her to look like a supermodel of the world.

Charlotte Hatherley is a former member of the band Ash. She left in 2006 to pursue her own solo career and this is the result. Her new album is called New Worlds. This is the single from it. It’s sounds great and the video concept is remarkable. Filmed backwards so that everything cleans up to be “White,” which is the song title.

4In America, this is breaking news on CNBC and a myriad of out press outlets. No, for real. Not the Iranian elections, not the economic recession, not the Royal Ascot. This! It’s a pretty fat fly I have to say. Awaiting the conservatives to call him a murderer. And for peta members to cry foul! Thanks to Aseel for the heads up.
Topman revisits the white T-shirt
Topman has asked a bunch of designers to re-imagine the iconic white t-shirt. The new takes are set to go to store by the end of May. It’s called the “We Love The White Tee” campaign. The designers include Juun J, Philip Lim, Henry Holland and Richard Chai to name a few.
