Brandy has been plotting her come back for a while. The diva-in-training has all the tracks ready and the first single already out. It’s about time Brandy releases something. As we said before, Brandy is one of the few artists on earth that have never released something that is not to our liking. So, we really look forward to whatever she decides to come our way. The new album is titled in tribute to Whitney Houston and it is called…
This is one of the singles of Whitney’s career that sometimes goes unnoticed because it was not on her album. Also, because it was only released in the UK. ”Something in Common” is a song by singers Bobby Brown and then-wife Whitney Houston that was featured on Brown’s 1992 album Bobby. Despite the album’s release in mid-1992, this was recorded in September 1991 in Atlanta, Georgia, immediately after Brown and Houston became engaged. The single version was recorded in 1993 and also available on Brown’s 1993 compilation album, Remixes in the Key of B. It stands as the couple’s first musical collaboration and the only one released as a single. The song examines two unlikely people coming together as they find “something in common.”
Since we heard the tragic news that one of the greatest pop artists has passed away we have been scouring the internet for any clues as to what the cause of death was. She seemed like she was on a healthier track and 48 is way too young for someone to die. First there was those pictures of her sweaty night out where Whitney Houston looked liked she had blood on her leg, we dismissed it as red wine in the beginning and then took a closer at the night. It’s not like she was on a downward spiral like everyone talks about it. In fact, Whitney was doing much better than she was this entire decade, at least to our distanced knowledge.
At any rate, Amy Winehouse’s death sparked a general consensus that it was due to illegal drug abuse only for it to come out as a result of excessive alcohol consumption. Now, she looked like she had a couple of drinks before and maybe she couldn’t live with the shame of her pictures being splattered all over the world the next day with her being completely discombobulated after she championed the role of a recovered addict to Oprah while promoting her last album I Look To You. What am I insinuating? Well, could it be possible that the death was a suicide. You know, she was in a bathtub. This is standard procedure for people who slit their wrists because the warm water keeps the vessels dilated for the blood to come out faster.
I am on speculating from afar. But, until its ruled out its not too far-fetched. Granted, it might be a drug relapse or an overdose on prescription drugs. Actually, it may very well be. But, something tells me that these photos of her hard partying did not sit well with the diva who finally polished her image after years and years of trying.
Correct me if I am wrong. This is just some blabber from a loving fan.
Another one of those tracks that resonates so well with Whitney’s great voice. “Didn’t We Almost Have It All” is the second single from Whitney Houston‘s second album Whitney, and was nominated for Song of the Year at the 1988 Grammy Awards. The song was written by Michael Masser and Will Jennings and was released in August 1987. Originally, another song was to be released as the second single, “For The Love Of You”, but Arista Records decided to release “Didn’t We Almost Have It All” instead because all Houston’s singles had to be original material at this point of her career.
The single was number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 even though there was not a video for the song. A live performance of the song recorded during Houston’s successful 1987–1988 Moment of Truth World Tour was played on MTV, VH1, and BET. The performance is from a Saratoga Springs, New York date. It was widely speculated that the song is about Houston’s relationship with then NFL star Randall Cunningham.
News just in that Whitney Houston has passed away. After pictures of her having a “wild night” surfaced, the diva was reported to be dead. Extremely sad. Whitney Houston is one of the most important pop figures of our time. More news to come once it surfaces. We will keep you posted!
People.com reports that the Grammy winner was pronounced dead at 3:55 p.m. Saturday at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. “We received a call at 3:43 p.m. from hotel security and Beverly Hills Fire and police responded minutes later,” the story quotes Beverly Hills Police Lieutenant Mark Rosen as saying. “It’s unclear who notified hotel staff because she has quite an entourage here at the hotel. We attempted to resuscitate her, to no avail.”
