Pandora Boxx wins Miss Congeniality award at reunion show
2RuPaul‘s Drag Race contestant and our very own friend Pandora Boxx might have left the show a couple of episodes back but her time on the show was not forgotten. The award that went last year to Nina Flowers was given to drag comedienne Ms. Pandora Boxx. The title was given to her during the filming of the reunion show which is filmed right after the results are in. She deserves it as, we think, sometimes the prize was stolen from her throughout the show. Let’s hope there’s more from Pandora Boxx in the pipeline!

1Our favorite facebook game is Happy Island
2There are a bunch of Facebook games that will flank your newsfeed like FarmVille and Pet Society. But, the gem out of all build-and-gain applications is Happy Island. Although, it is yet in it’s beta version it’s managed to improve so much in one month. The game is all about tourism. Your goal to to build and accommodate tourists to visit your islands. It’s quiet addictive. Click here to play it, if you think you can beat me.
Whale fights with bird
1Last week we found you a black bear that was fighting with a little house cat. Now, we have this tail-kick by a huge whale with unidentified bird species. We love inter-species fighting, unless it leads to violence, that is.

1Lady GaGa wins Grammy Awards!
1OK, so this headline is a little bit early. But, we can’t wait for The Fame Monster to take over the Grammy like Bette Midler did as “The Grammy Ghost” back in the peak of her recording artist days. We have been fans of Lady GaGa since the beginning of 2008. We were surprised when she wasn’t nominated for “Best New Artist” Grammy last year, but we always felt the Grammys were out of touch anyway. But, this year she got some props. She will most definitely get one, at least in her field. But, the Grammys have surprised many so you’ll never know what happens. All that aside, her performance will undoubtedly be a great one. Elton John is rumored to guest star with her and that should be a treat. We will be watching a covering it for you. Also, we are very excited about Melody Gardot, too.
UPDATE: “The un-televised part of the Grammys is already underway and USA TODAY’s Edna Gundersen is reporting that Lady Gaga just won her first two Grammys, in dance recording for Poker Face and electronic/dance album for The Fame, her debut. By contrast, Madonna, whose Celebration lost to Gaga in dance recording, did not win her first non-video Grammy until 1998, 15 years after her debut album.” – USA TODAY

JUST IN: Obama wins the Nobel Peace Prize
11The news just in is that Barack Hussien Obama has just won the prestigious Nobel prize. He got it for peace. We can’t believe it but we are duly excited. Updates will be coming up soon. Excerpt fresh from Norway: “It’s just been made official that president Obama has been awarded the 2009 Nobel Peace Price.” Like that added anything.
Don’t Quote Me, Vol. 207
“Cautious, careful people, always casting about to preserve their reputation and social standing, never can bring about a reform. Those who are really in earnest must be willing to be anything or nothing in the world’s estimation.”
- Susan B. Anthony
Kuwait elects 4 women to parliament
2Don’t mind the late-news headline, but I couldn’t resist the “News Of The Day” aura. So, yes Kuwait finally did it. The people of Kuwait broke another barrier in the on-going war on sexism and discrimination. And when it rains, it pours. Not one, but four. One of which was the first in her district and another the second. It’s hardly a liberal uprising and, to tell you the truth, some of them could might as well pass for the piety bloc. But, complaining is so 2000 and late.
Alexander Rybak wins Eurovision for Norway
3After a long and winding road down the Eurovision Song Contest selection process. The Norwegian, Alexander Rybak, won by a mile. He was the favorite and his song was as good as it gets for ESC. The votes came in and Norway was constantly at the top of the game. Turkey, Azerbaijan, Iceland and the United Kingdom were close but didn’t quite make it to the same ranks. The singer’s set to take the world by storm. Looking forward to the Oslo show next year.
Susan Boyle helps Britain’s Got Talent
2Susan Boyle’s awe-inspiring performance not only put her on the fame map, but also piqued the world’s curiosity about the show it came from. Britian’s Got Talent has now it’s own channel on YouTube for everyone that doesn’t have access to TV channels from the UK. It also paved the way for acts to reach a wider audience like Shaheen Jafargholi and Diversity (video above). It’s seems that Simon Cowell has another cash cow. Aside from Leona Lewis, that is.
