We are excited for Brandy’s new album! Two Eleven follows Norwood’s least commercially successful album, Human (2008), which failed to enter the top-ten of the US Billboard 200. Its foundations can be traced back to 2009, a time when Norwood had been working on a second album with Epic Records, involving contribution from Ne-Yo and Stargate as well as The-Dream and Tricky Stewart. However, after singer-songwriter Amanda Ghost was appointed the new president of the label in February 2009, Epic terminated Norwood’s recording contract with the company. As some of the material recorded under Sony Music was left with the label and re-recorded by other artists, her departure from the company temporarily halted production on a sixth studio album. By mid-2009 however, she resumed work on brand new songs in the studio with producers such as Sean & Kadis.
The video treatment for the second single from Madonna’s new album MDNA is out and we have to say that we haven’t liked a Madonna video so much for a while. This is fun, fresh and eye-grabbing. We are lovely the fashions, the dancing’s on point for a change and the lovely scene at the end with the black tears. Also, the eye candy is not so bad. This is was we imagine Madonna doing at this point. Great songs, amazing sexy videos. Good job.
Alexandra Winston is an American indie pop rock singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Classically trained in opera, Winston was encouraged by her parents to pursue music. Winston was born and raised in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. She moved to New York City in 2010 to work with production duo The Knocks.
Alyson Greenfield premieres the official video for “Mama Said Knock You Out” over on AOL today. The video can also be seen on YouTube. The visual was filmed and edited by Adam Holz. The song is off of Alyson’s 2011 release Rock Out With Your Glockenspiel Out, which is a collection of hip hop covers including Coolio’s “Gangster’s Paradise” on a glockenspiel, Kelis’ “Milkshake,”as well as LL Cool J’s “Mama Said Knock You Out” on a baby grand piano.
All this listening to Gotye’s album Making Mirrors has inspired us to revisit some 80s’ pop-rock gems. The Police’s impressive oeuvre is one of them. This track strikes a chord with us as we found it in a stack of childhood Video Club pirated VHS’s a while back. Lovely tune!

The song was written by Madonna, Martin Solveig, Nicki Minaj and M.I.A, composed by Martin Solveig and Michael Tordjman and produced by Madonna and Martin Solveig.

This could be one of the best days of 2011! Ani DiFranco’s seventeenth (Yes, 17th!) studio album has been released to the public and made its way online. This marks the longest hiatus Ani DiFranco has taken in her prolific career. This one is called ¿Which Side Are You On?. We are already on the 3rd track and loving every bit. Of course we spend a lot of time on YouTube scavenging live sets, so we know some of the songs. But, we could already tell she is concentrating on the melodic side of this more on this one. Regina Spektor is back with a set of new songs to be releases sometimes May 2012. The new album is called What We Saw From The Cheap Seats. She explained on Facebook: ”I’m very excited to say that this summer I recorded a new record with Mike Elizondo in L.A. It’s been finished for a little while, but I had no idea when it would be out in the world until now. We’re trying to get everything ready for it to come out in May (but I will share some stuff before then for sure!).”
The uploader has made this video not available in my country because apparently they are so eager to break the Kuwaiti market when they get to it, or they just lump up everyone not from where they are or not a huge market for western music like the US and the UK. Nonetheless, we love the band, so we want to give the chance to some of our international readers to see it. Tell us how it goes.
